Well how about Gus Poyet. If I was Lambert and they try to contact him I would be inclined to tell them I have no interest in any way
Gus Poyet tries to play football and certainly could sort out any problems with disipline.

Grayson or Kevin Mac doesnt bear thinking about  and Martinez has turned us down once

I actually think OGS will be the new manager in the next 48hrs

Fukin shambles, we are a laughing stock yet again.

I just don't see it like this at all.  How come people won't believe our own press officer when he says no job was offered, yet they have no problems believing random ITK's on Twitter? Villa are going about things in a spot on matter as far as I can see.
'
Because some people always want to believe the worst of the team they support. I don't understand it either.

Look at the facts Dave. We have amateurs owning and running the club. They are on a run of making wrong decisions and making a pigs ear out of most dealings on the football side.

They made an absolute howler of the last appointment but let's not point the finger because a young manager learning his trade in Norway has turned us down. A bit of credit for being brave enough going for him in the first place would'nt go amiss.

I applaud the brave decision to go for him but surely you do enough behind the scenes work that you know he will say yes. Martinez debacle of last year? I'm sure Dave would say that wasn't Lerners/Faulkners fault either.

OK if some people want to comfort themselves  that he put his family first fine. I don't buy it. It's a PR spin agreed by both parties.

You proof is?
And do you have any proof otherwise other than a tale that has been used a thousand times?

So you admit you have no proof?
::)

I'll assume that's a no then.
You can assume anything you like dear I am reading it absolutely correctly.

You are reading it how you choose to interpret it. There is a difference. And don't be so patronizing thank you.

Dave will say that none of us know what happened then, as we don't now.

So one of our candidates has dropped out due to family reasons, big fucking deal.  The shortlist of I'd suggest 5 or 6 other candidates is still there and I'm sure they're working their way through the interviews to appoint the right man to the published criteria.  Disappointing that a bright young Manager (who I've got serious concerns about) has decided its not for him but hey ho, shit happens, we move on to the other candidates.  Hopefully interviews will finish shortly, we can get the guy appointed and we can move on to moaning about the transfer policy.

Gutted like most, still think Ian holloway would do a good job. If as some folks on here are saying randy ain't gonna spend big holloway would get every single player in a villa shirt up for each game ready to give their all.

No way to Ian Holloway. Things are bad but they aren't so bad that we go crawling to somebody who A isn't all he thinks he is and B had the cheek to slag off a club of our standing.
A club of our standing? Take a step back and look at the bigger picture we ain't the massive club we once was. Our situation over the last couple of seasons has changed we need to get real and accept that we can't attract the best managers or players. What we can do is get a manager in who will work with what we've got and get them playing as a team and add a couple of half decent signings.

Family reasons sounds strange, though.

Surely they'd have been there the whole time and not just surfaced after a meal with Rokke?
Pleased you see it like this as well.

Like i said elsewhere, Rogers and De Boer have turned down the chance to even speak with Liverpool. We can't just assume every manager we speak to should say yes.
