OK if some people want to comfort themselves  that he put his family first fine. I don't buy it. It's a PR spin agreed by both parties.

You proof is?
And do you have any proof otherwise other than a tale that has been used a thousand times?

has ole actually quoted as saying hes not coming? he has to save face in molde to keep the fans on his side. i remember when big ron sat in front of all the press and said i'm staying at shef weds. i told my mate he's coming to the villa, you could see in his face he was being told what to say!

i'd still reckon Lambert as favourite and was until Lerner crapped himself at the OGS hysteria . If he turns us down then we KNOW there's not a pot to piss in and he doesn't fancy it.

So you admit you have no proof?

As others have said very reminiscent of big rons departure from Sheffield - we thought we had him then we'd lost him and then we had him again, who can legislate for such a change of heart !

Genuinely, the last few days have been the most exciting for me as a disgruntled Villa/Football fan for the last few years. Now I just feel totally deflated.

It's what we're being told, which is a lot more evidence than you've come up with. Perhaps the reason it gets used so often is because it's often the truth.

Doug must be having a quiet chuckle tonight. It smells of indecision and incompetence.

I think the negativity surrounding this is because of the damage caused by Lerners last managerial fuck up. You can't blame people thinking the worst after the laughing stock they made of us last time.

Maybe we all got a bit carried away with the idea, though.

He's an unusual option, yes, but he's extremely inexperienced, a couple of years coaching youth teams and a year in Norway, it's not the most impressive of track records, he's very young and has a way to go yet.

I think my disappointment is part he's not coming, and part "oh christ, who else is on their list?"

Yes, because Doug always got the manager he wanted.

Indeed. It must remind him of his time at the Villa.
