This isn't about money.  It's a man putting his family first, nothing more.

Sorry but it's about our current owner and chief exec being unable to deal with modern day football. They really are useless.

And how do you come to that conclusion?

Tell me something they have done right or got a deal done on the footballing side of things?

Disappointed that OGS spoke about the job being offered that he'd find it hard to turn down, leaked that there was a clause in his contract to let him walk if a premiership job came up.

Gave everyone the impression all we had to do was offer him the job, then he backs away for 'family reasons'.

Or

He was never offered the job, we've got someone else lined up & he's pulled out before we offer it to someone else.

OGS would have been a risk, albeit probably a worthwhile one & we're not in a situation where we can afford to take a risk.

Lambert next.

Right I said yesterday I believed it would be lambert after being told by someone very itk  we had spoken  with him, I then heard from the same person it was going to be unlikely to be lambert and it would be ole- now ole has pulled out will we go back to lambert or will he pull out too?

Who knows what will happen now- one thing for sure lambert was not the 1st choice but I hope he gets the job.

quit while you are well behind son. Every new post makes that hole ever deeper.

Actually feel sorry for Lerner/Faulkner tonight
They went for an ambitious exciting appointment and they have been shafted I feel
We really need to show some support for the 2 of them now

Just thinking.  Maybe it wasn't formally offered early enough.  How long were we expecting Ole to beat off the press or Rokke?

But then, we had those quotes - 'when he is offered it, he will say, 'yes'.'  Something went wrong.

How was he able to go to Rokke's place tonight without a firm acceptance of the job?

If we're going for Lambert, then I hope to fuck we get him, because it really doesn't bear thinking where the search will lead if he ruled himself out.

Get a grip man.

We're not going to let this... oh fuck it, I am gutted. It also makes us look like C U N T S!

I think you'd be surprised at how little coverage this has received over here. Big news in Norway, barely a mention over here. Fuck it, keep going. The board tried to move quickly, OSG has decided to look after his family, fair enough. NEXT.

After all that happened that's absolutely heartbreaking...

Get a grip, man. It isn't heartbreaking. It is disappointing, yes, but keep it in perspective.

One thing I do think, though, is that the club will have been aware of the positive reaction to OGS and the degree to which it was because it was left-field thinking, promising root and branch change.

They're now in a situation where the man our fans were singing for on the last day of the season is going to look like a conservative choice.

If we're going for Lambert, then I hope to fuck we get him, because it really doesn't bear thinking where the search will lead if he ruled himself out.
Don't think it will be lambert so you might want to review that username

OK if some people want to comfort themselves  that he put his family first fine. I don't buy it. It's a PR spin agreed by both parties.

To be fair to Solskjaer, he was always at pains to say he hadn't been offered the job, and that whether he'd come here was a hypothetical question.

I am inclined to believe that, as Dave W says, he was under serious consideration, maybe even the number one choice, but he wasn't offered it.

Don't get me wrong, it is still a knock back, as he's said he doesn't want to be considered any more, much as Martinez did last season, but I don't really know how it will look in the press.

Probably like a kick in the balls.

Norweigian journalist reporting that Rokke has promised OGS a load of money to buy new players in time for CL qualifiers. This is the guy that was pulling out of Molde 2 days ago. Billionaires and their egos.

On a positive note, the trip out has probably enabled the Ginger Prince to stock up on duty free fags and bottle of Anais Anais for 'er indoors

Or it may be true. I know people who have turned down jobs abroad because of their family.
