Randy Lerner should have taken a leaf out of the KLF's book, and just burnt £200m on a remote hilltop somewhere.  The end result would have been the same, and we'd have been saved the indignation of having that failure McLeish anywhere near our club.

Unfortunately, it is something General Krulak (is on the Villa board, used to come onto the forums and tell us they were in it through thiick or thin - then it got thin and he disappeared, like a rat up a drainpipe) said shortly after the appointment of our manager.

O'neil has left your club in debt and now Mcleish is taking you down, this time three years ago you were 6th and fighting for Europe, we were going down. How the times have changed.

they will change again,  sometimes you need a fall to sort youselves out. as you may have realised in the last 3 years for your lot . People coming around to Mr Ashley then?

Ashley is starting to win fans over but it's pardew and the squad that is getting the plaudits

Sorry but I don't give a flying fuck about your delusional little Club, couldn't give a shit.

Sure we took the piss when you got relegated, infact it was our pleasure to do it on behalf of every other supporter up and down the land.  Everyone wanted to be in our shoes that day I can assure you.

The one consolation I have from this whole debacle is that VP is something akin to a graveyard for shite managers. It seems that if you get found out at Villa, you're unemployable anywhere else. So McLeish shouldn't start drawing up those extension plans yet.

Odds on to go down now I feel.  Cheers Randy, cheers Mctwat and your goblin side kick Peter Grunt.  Wankers, the lot of you. Clueless arseholes of the highest degree.

I have us down on 37 and the other 3 getting 38. Although that does include Blackburn winning at Chelsea on the final day, taking into account they are in 2 cup finals and may well not be concentrating too hard on their league games.

In fact, I would go as far to say as I think from here we will get 1 more point. 2 and we are safe, but think we will get 1. At that point, I reckon it all comes down to the QPR result at Stamford Bridge this Sunday. They go there and get a point, it will see us down IMO.

Can someone re-set the poll, please? I voted No before but now I think I need to change my vote.

It gets worse.

On VillaTalk, after the appointment, he said "I think we can challenge for fourth".

Many people, unsurprisingly, heaped ridicule on this, and he replied with "sorry, my finger slipped, meant to say fifth".

As if the difference between fourth and fifth was what people were laughing at.

I don't have any issues with the General personally, I'm sure he was acting in good faith when he was on here, but that sort of thing just shows how deeply clueless our leadership are.

3 for the drop?
« Reply #522 on: April 25, 2012, 12:09:02 AM »
The bells are ringing and the end is nigh...with 3 fixtures to go (apart from Bolton with 4 games) its probably about as close at it gets at the bottom of the table and will run until the last game of the season.

Apologies if this has already been done but heres all the relegation contenders fixtures, current points...plus a meaningless prediction of forthcoming results:

VILLA (36 pts)
Sat 28 Apr: West Brom (A)
Sun 6 May: Tottenham (H)
Sun 13 May: Norwich (A)
FINAL PTS: 37

QPR (34 pts)
Sun 29 Apr: Chelsea (A)
Sun 6 May: Stoke (H)
Sun 13 May: Man City (A)
FINAL PTS: 37

WIGAN (34 pts)
Sat 28 Apr: Newcastle (H)
Mon 7 May: Blackburn (A)
Sun 13 May: Wolves (H)
FINAL PTS: 38

BOLTON (33 pts)
Sat 28 Apr: Sunderland (A)
Wed 2 May: Tottenham (H)
Sun 6 May: West Brom (H)
Sun 13 May: Stoke (A)
FINAL PTS: 37

BLACKBURN (31 pts)
Sun 29 Apr: Tottenham (A)
Mon 7 May: Wigan (H)
Sun 13 May: Chelsea (A)
FINAL PTS: 35

I cant see Blackburn getting out of trouble with 2 very tough away fixtures in London, and even if they manage to scrape 4 or 5 pts, it wont be enough to get them out of relegation especially with their goal difference.

That just leaves one more relegation place...

Wigan will get out of it with a win/draw against Blackburn and a home win against Wolves on the final day of the season, so that leaves Villa, QPR and Bolton trying to be the 18th crappest team in the league.

Bolton have the easiest run in plus a game in hand, but they really are a poor inconsistent team despite beating us tonight so they could get anything from 4pts to 9ts from their remaining fixtures. Forever the optimist, I've predicted 1pt per game to level with us on points but with a far worse goal difference.

QPR need to pick up 4pts to get out of it, but with trips to Chelski and Citeh either side of a battle against Stoke, I just dont see them getting more than 3pts...the saving grace for us could be that Chelski will need to win to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive and Citeh will need 3pts for any chance of winning the title.

Villa? Well we're shit and we know we are...I dont see us picking up points against Baggies or Spurs, so if we dont get at least a draw against Norwich then we could be relegated. If we can scrape yet another draw in any of the remaining fixtures then we could stay up on goal difference.

My bottom 3 for the drop...

18th: QPR
19th: Blackburn
20th: Wolves

Sorry, KRS, it didn't really deserve a new relegation thread. We're trying to keep it as streamlined as we can.

I remember the 4th/5th calamity being discussed on here.

I can't believe it has come to this.  The worst home record over a season in our glorious club's long history.  The real prospect of us being relegated for only the 5th time in our existence.

I don't know how McLeish, Lerner and Faulkener can sleep at night.
