Sorry, KRS, it didn't really deserve a new relegation thread. We're trying to keep it as streamlined as we can.
No worries...might be worth stickying a thread of the remaining relegation contender fixtures for the next few weeks though.

To be fair, while I am as pessimistic about Villa's chances as anybody on here, as far as Bolton are concerned I'm not convinced they're all that. They had two minutes in the game in which they won it, but I was saying for the whole of the first half that they were one of the shittest teams I'd seen at Villa Park, and it wasn't as if they were playing a form team.

There is no such thing as a 'hard' or 'easy' run-in now. It's pretty obvious that form counts for nothing and guts is key. You can't say any of those fixtures is a definite win or loss. All I care about is permutations, and as far as I can see we'll have a much clearer picture of everything after Wednesday 2nd, when we'll all have 2 games left and we'll have played this weekend's fixtures. Avoid defeat at the Baggies and it might just see us have enough. Take a beating...it doesn't look pretty.

For the first time this season i'm seriously worried. The way we went from playing pretty well and controlling the majority of the game was horrendous to watch. It feels like everything that wasn't going to happen that would have meant staying up fairly comfortably is starting to happen.

Was starting to think about relegation after the Chelsea defeat. The only hope we have is that football can bring out flukey results in your favour sometimes.

As for Newcastle fans coming on here.... Meh

Which is precisely why I think we are in deep, deep shit.

Other teams around us will win games i'm certain of it.  Can we match them result for result?  I don't think we will.

Have to say, if we could get Bent and Collins back fit quickly I would be a bit more confident, but it ain't looking too clever.

I'm already looking at who we'll most likely be playing next season, and it's not looking that pretty.

I can't see us getting another point; you need to score goals to do that.

I can see us conceding against all 3 teams we're up against in the run in.

We will go down, and it chokes me to say it, but I just fail to see any other ending to the already dreadful season we've endured.

a) Going up ( Blose potentially) b) going down ( mighty Viila).

Proud history, what future ?

Not if Collins and Ireland are both fit for the next match, because that could make all the difference.  Warnock did his best tonight, though, and even scored.  He's good in midfield, and just needed other people around him to have the same luck in scoring as he did.

While there's life, there's hope...so I've voted no, attempting to will the Villa to survive!
(Fingers crossed, & praying to St Jude...)

I agree that the mood would lift amazingly if McL left, though.  Failing that, perhaps some of the 1982 squad could visit BH, or be in the dressing room over the next couple of games to help give the lads a boost in confidence.  They're good when they get going, as we've seen.  Wish he'd play GG or Carruthers, though, even as subs.

Its between us qpr and wigan i reckon for the last spot. My predictions are for Wigan to reach 38 and qpr 37.

Would be happy with a nil nil on sat as can see us getting a point from spurs.

Still don't think we are doomed yet, though it is not looking good.  I think it will come down to how the other teams do now, as we are really struggling.  Blackburn need to win two games to go above us and I think our next best hope are QPR.  Even though we are terrible at the minute, I can still see us picking up a point or two which could be enough.  After feeling gloomy on the way home from the game, I'm now feeling a little more positive about it all.

7 wins in 35 games . 20% win rate .  We looked doomed.

Quite. Bolton got lucky today. A decent team would have stuffed them out of sight.

Check you with yer new mod status. I dunno. As shite as Villa are, I just don't think B'burn and Bolton are any better. QPR have got to play Chelsea as well. Wigan's good run can't keep on going.
