If he's a failure we'll be looking for a new manager in a few years.  If he's a success we'll be looking for a new manager in a few years.

Although there is the whiff of the MON's off him I think he'll be a good manager, he strikes me as a guy that doesn't tolerate bullshit, something that will work with some of our current players and alienate a few others. But that could be a good thing. Get rid of the guys that are too settled and bring in players that want to play. If he can maintain the good work that McLeish has done with motivating Stephen Ireland and we play to Gabbys strengths I think we will have a good season. We have some really good players on our books, they just have been  through some bad management.

Well at least if he's a success we can go back to dreaming about Hiddink and Guardiola when he leaves.

Lambert looks like to me he takes no bullshit, let's see how much Gabby sulks on the pitch when he's the gaffer

Gary Karsa  head of Football operations at Norwich . I bet we get him too

I bet we don't.

I hope we do. With both McLeish and Houllier for various reasons we didn't get the full management team missing out on Houllier's long term assistant (whose name I cannot recall) and Andy Watson. PL brought Karsa over from Colchester so obviously he thinks highly of him within his team. Same with Culverhouse.

Where's that brick-wall emoticon?

Quote
Yes we got the singing bit Rich, loud and clear, however if I was PL I would have been less than impressed with the slagging off of a friend and fellow Scott, who never stood a chance from the off with the small minded Villa supporters because of the Birmingham link. F***ed if I would want to manage you with a crowd like that. Loose 3 on the bounce, another Scott gets roasted.

Seriously though, I wonder if the chants from the Villa fans towards him has played on his mind much over the last couple of weeks.

Both Lambert and TSM are actually named Scott? You learn something new every day.

I know that our previous 'Scott' knew a thing or two about how to lose a game but how does one loose a game? Buggered if I know.

Do people really believe we have a good squad as a foundation for a new manager to build on? I'd say we need at least another center half, another 2 decent full backs, a completely new midfield, and a striker. And that's just to make sure we are floating somewhere near mid table.

I don't think Ron Saunders worried whether he was liked by the players or not, he was the boss and not to be messed with. Lambert strikes me as someone who's in the same mould and will not tolerate the goings on some of our players got up to. Glad it's not Martinez, he could possibly have missed out on the biggest job he'll ever get.

Happy enough with lambert.

Makes it more delicious Norwich (who had to pay compensation for stealing him from Colchester) are pissed off about it.

Doubly better that we rejected Martinez and Whelan is left looking like a twat (is it wrong I want to see them relegated next season?).

I don't like him either, but how is he a twat? Looks to me like he managed (in his own way) to keep his key employee for another season.

In the same way that I managed to keep a tin of tartan paint I couldnt sell on ebay.
He is a twat. He's trying to mug everybody off that his manager is the very top of the fod chain when the reality is he was on the end of 2 "thanks but no thanks in as many days". And apparently Aston Villa, one of the most successful and largest clubs in the country aren't big enough for him.

Silly old bell end. I'd love the club to come out and put him in his place but they quite rightly won't waste their time with such an unimportant peripheral gobshite like him.
That's the difference with those with class and those without. You dont do your talking through the gutter media.

It surely can't be long now until Martinez is unveiled as either Barcelona or Spain manager.   Or both, such is his skill and ability.

I think the Rodgers appointment at Liverpool will end up as a disaster.

And how we'll laugh.

Yeah I agree.

disagree,  its not all about how big the name is anymore, its how you play the game and is it suited to the club,

as someone said earlier Rodgers is a 'pass or die' manager, that will suit Liverpool, i cant stand them as a club but thats the football they have been brought up on and appreciate

i would have been more than happy to have seen them stick with KKK, he was old school and only going to struggle, with this appointment they have gone for someone who actually knows what he is doing on the pitch, and i think he will be very successfull there, unfortunately

Out with a couple of Liverpool chaps on Tuesday night for a few beverages. Gutted that KKK is gone and think Martinez/Rodgers/any one that isn't KKK is going to be a rubbish appointment. I tried to argue that KKK was complete tosh but they just couldn't see it. I would say the new fella is going to have an uphill struggle to start off with... Strange bunch Liverpool fans.

He's been drafted in by the ECB to sort out the Euro.

After he's quelled the trouble in Syria, sorted a little business in Afghanistan and reformed the Smiths.

true, they dont want him, which will be his biggest problem,
but they like us have had a succession of managers who have not worked, at least they havent got any nagging doubts over his style of play, just whether he's up to the job or not

So according the Whelan we're not a big enough club for Martinez, that sort of delusion is surely enough to be sectioned.

It's quoted on sky sports. Something along the lines of 'Villa are a fantastic club with fantastic fans, but they are not a big enough club for Martinez.'
