I've said it before I've seen Norwich play some decent stuff and pass the ball around, I'm convinced Lambert is not a complete long ball merchant. I'd be happy to have him appointed, but please don't bring Holt. Too old, too expensive and almost certainly a one season wonder.

I mentioned this a week or so ago, but I read a really good piece on Lambert last season, where it highlighted how he'd out-thought Rodgers tactically as Norwich beat Swansea. Don't get me wrong, I like Rodgers too and would have loved to see him at VP, but Lambert's on a par at least.

The whole MON resemblence thing does grate with me i admit, but i'm hoping there's a bit more depth to him than MON. Certainly he's not a chequebook manager like MON

From the article posted in the Guardian he also appears to regularly rotate his formation according to the opposition and sometimes during a match.  That's certainly nothing like MON.

There's a journalist who appears on TalkSPORT who's a NCFC fan (Mick Dennis), and he said that PL changed his system 5 times in one game last season. I dont think MON changed his system 5 times in  his whole 4 years at VP.
He's played in Germany, where that kind of thing is the norm. It's just whether some dopey British players can get their heads round it.

I think the Rodgers appointment at Liverpool will end up as a disaster.

And how we'll laugh.

Well I've voted 'yes' to Lambert.  Randy, you have my permission.  And if this one falls through I'm going to be fucking pissed off!!!

agreed. think its unlikely he will buy Holt though seeing we need players all over the team and the forward line is probably the one area we're okay in.

Wouldn't say we are OK up front. Paper thin when DB got injured last season Gabby , Weimann and The Fonz!!), plus we've lost Heskey - for what he was worth.

well OK is relative i guess. Up front we have two proven performers and a good kid. Elsewhere we haven't even got a decent first team choice. Ideally i'd like someone else in, but i'm not sure if the budget will stretch.

We've got Weimann as well remember, but I do think we need one more striker.

Liverpool is a MASSIVE job for a 39 year old manager. Depends if he's got the self belief and time to get it right. Couple be a really good appointment. Gutted we didnt get him. Think AV would have been a better career move for him.

Well, here's hoping Lambert works better than Rogers.  If it happens.

Personally I prefer Poyet, but I'd sooner have Lambert over Rodgers.

Seems Martinez is now out of the running, but by whose choice?

Lambert now 1/14..Ole out to 33-1 ..was ahead of myself taking 16-1 there. oh well had a small punt on Lambert at 7-2. Covered Ole bet but not by much. Lambert it is then?? He'll do but would have preferred Ole! Life, and let's get on with it. UTV!! AV is more important than any one man!

disagree,  its not all about how big the name is anymore, its how you play the game and is it suited to the club,

as someone said earlier Rodgers is a 'pass or die' manager, that will suit Liverpool, i cant stand them as a club but thats the football they have been brought up on and appreciate

i would have been more than happy to have seen them stick with KKK, he was old school and only going to struggle, with this appointment they have gone for someone who actually knows what he is doing on the pitch, and i think he will be very successfull there, unfortunately

I think the Fonz needs to go as he hasnt made the grade so far and wont IMO. That leaves us wit Bent, Gabby (who could get back to his best under PL) and Weimann. So we do need another striker, but other positions do take priority.
