I like how this is announced in the media - both radio 1 & 5 news state that since Whelan has announced Martinez is staying at Wigan, Lambert has become favourite to be Villa boss.

How is it that that round faced northern cock is omnipresent in our managerial searches. My one wish for the Villa next year (after winning the league/FA Cup double) is that we send Wigan down on the last day of the season.

If you want to make MON comparisons you could make some positive ones like they are both winners as players and managers. Both won plenty of caps and medals, including the European Cup and both took small clubs into the Premier League and made them competitive in the Premier League, finishing above bigger clubs.

I think a bit of revisionist history is going on here. Wasn't too many days ago that 'pubehead' was getting a right old roasting on these pages,and even before PL has been annointed we've got all these comparisons going on.
