Paul Lambert reminds me of Graham Turner, a good up and coming manager who has;nt managed a big team, or big players, or big names, who might be a success at VP, but probably won't be.

Valencia are losing their manager in the summer, if McL goes then he would be my choice, or someone like Michael Laudrup.A big name.

I'm not that into available managers etc. But we need a young manager. Someone with drive and a clear philosophy. Someone to inspire. Someone to make something of his own. Whether it's  Lambert, Grayson, Swansea fella, Jürgen Klopp, Solskjaer or a manager from Germany, scandinavia, whatever. Couldn't give a shit. We need a new manager.

I'd say the only key factor for me is age. With a fairly young manager you always have the random gem that can create something out of nothing. With getting shite like McLeish, it's dead certain you won't ever achieve anything.

This is truelly terrible. A pisspoor manager who is unable to motivate a group of uninspiring below average journeymen. The spark at Villa has been extinguished since before MON left. We need a manager who can inspire, who can attract a player with the promise of progression and who can bring some bloody smiles back to Villa Park

Not a clue who that is tho

I'd take anyone right now. But more importantly, who can we attract? Lambert, Rodgers, Martinez...frankly any of those would do. They seem to be able to get thier players to actually play football and look organised. Chuck a small transfer kitty at them and with the kids, a new defence and the return of a few senior players then who knows. Just couldn't be worse...

Given, Bent, Nzogbia, Ireland is a half decent base to work from...

Gus Poyet or if Chelsea don't keep him on as manager Roberto Di Mateo.

would've loved to see di matteo and either clarke or wilkins as a team BUT that'll never happen as we don't have the vision as a club that they'd be looking for.... MON is the best manager we've had this century. ok, so he spunked a few million away, but who hasn't??? we have played the best football for a long time under him, and faulkner's lack of leadership was one reason he left!!

of the others, no-one has proven they can manage a larger club with success.... personally i would have loved eck to have had another year in charge.... but recently i'd rather we spend 2-3 million on getting rid, and putting the management team in charge until the summer.... then the merry-go-round starts again, players may not want to come cos we lack ambition, others see us as a stepping stone and/or major career payday....

face it , we're stuck between a rock and a hard place atm.... lerner obviously hasn't the balls to break the cycle or appoint decent executives to run the club....

As a club we need to rethink everything. There has to be more leadership, there has to be a coherent strategy. What's the point in making up the numbers (or not making up the numbers as the case might be next year)?

Randy needs to realise he is the sole custodian of a proud tradition. What we are being subjected to is simply unacceptable. We haven't been competing. We've gone for damage limitation in so any games.

We need to go out and get a manager with a positive attitude and ambition. This club needs to be re-energised. Sort it out Mr. Lerner.

We really need a man that will bleed C&B. Do you remember the days under Gregory? Fair enough, it was ups and downs, but remember how he was fighting for us. Hell, I've heard him be more supportive us the last 2-3 times he's done an interview, then anything McLeish and Houllier has ever said. Make me believe please

Laudrup would have been my slightly leftfield choice post MON.

Since then he returned to Spain and didn't do a whole lot with Mallorca. Decent pedigree as a player, and a degree of success with Brondby and Getafe as a manager.  But then iffy stints with Spartak Moscow and Mallorca.  Still young though, in management terms.  So shouldn't necessarily be discounted on that basis.

Van Basten at Heerenveen too, another big name player with a mixed management record.  But -if we're honest-  a manager who doesn't have question marks over his CV or isn't inexperienced to some extent probably wouldn't be a realistic option for us at present.

I don't think we can go with a younger manager. Damage has been done this season and its going to take an experienced head to sort it out. I don't know who though.
