Dunne out for up to two months
« on: February 13, 2012, 02:26:22 PM »
According to the Guardian, Richard Dunne's injury is a fractured shoulder, and he will be out for up to eight weeks.

(Although, the headline says shoulder but the report mentions his clavicle - isn't that the collarbone? Not that it makes much difference I suppose).

He played well yesterday by this seasons standards but apart from the fact we have also lost Clark for a few weeks I can't say I'm that bothered and it's not like he's any better than Collins or Cuellar. He's been awful this season.

Still, get well soon Dunney. The two week break will at least give us time to rest Clark up.

On a positive note Herd is back in full training and will be available for Wigan ,which is A relief as he can step straight into Clarks shoes

I imagine he'd look better in Skechers, or maybe some of those wellies that look like frogs

---------------Given----------------
Hutton---Carlos---Collins---Baker
--------Gardner---Petrov---------
---Nzog-----Keane----Gabby-----
--------------Bent------------------

Herd on for Petrov and Ireland on for Bent allowing Gabby some time upfront and also to rest Bent a bit.

It's a good opportunity to test Baker for an extended run.  Once Clark is fit (and we have some more points) we could also drop Collins to really test out youth players.

How much you wanna bet he'll start Warnock again now that our next 2 league games are away? More reason for him to do it now that Dunne is injured. He won't have the guts to use Baker.

Warnock responded well to being dropped when he came on against Wolves.  Not saying I want him to be recalled, but fighting for his place may have a positive impact.

When was the last time you posted anything of a positive nature? You must hang around this site waiting for the Villa to lose so you can descend like a sooth sayer bleating and moaning.
What do you do for light relief? Pull yourself off to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner?

I still can't work out how the ref gave a foul against Dunne when challenging for the ball that lead to his injury.  Odd decision in the extreme.

Personally, I knock one out to 'Christabel'. Filthy.

Get well soon Tonney. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Think we'll miss him (hope I'm wrong)
