I see James Collins @ Swindon hit four goals against Portsmouth and has scored quite a few I dont think he can be higher than championship level.

Habib Beye is currently without a club  :o

King Carlos is still doing a great job for us. A couple of own goals the other day and tonight he's given Suarez the Freedom of Anfield.

Interesting the number of ex-Villa players who no-one thought up to the mark and then moved on then emerge as very influential in their new clubs. examples are Maloney who is a revelation at Wigan, Sidwell who has been playing well at Fulham and Routledge at Swansea who looks a different player to when he played for us. A lot to do with coaching and 'seeing' a player's best role I think. Then there's Ridgewell and Luke Moore who seems to have carved out a top flight career for himself when many felt he may go the way of his brother.

A quick update on Stefan Moore, he is now at Leamington and scored a hat trick on his debut having been transferred from St Neots Town.

I was thinking about some of the players we let go because they couldn't get in the side: Cahill, ridgewell, sidwell, routledge. All would be very welcome additions at the moment! NRC (who I don't think has even been first choice for Ipswich consistently) harewood and beye? Less so.

I watched some A League highlights last night and saw Ivanhoe hammer another one in for Newcastle Jets. Did his best to put it over from 6 yards mind.

I watched an entire match last week, it was unbelievably dire.

Not everyone's cup of tea I know but Lee Hendrie had an excellent game in Tamworth's 2-1 win over Scumeaton last night.

I forgot about Maloney. Steven Davis too, to a lesser extent. Whittingham would be a useful dquad option too. I think like Moore looks quite decent as a squad player for Swansea. Maybe we'll jettison the current batch of young players less quickly than we did that lot now we're not looking to buy in immediate success.

Shane lowry doing well at millwall though often picks up a card. Millwall by all accounts have a good season.
Where's Jonathan hogg these days? last i heard he was at pompey or watford?  I remember seeing him play against man u in the middle and had a few other games .. Did the basics had no shot or any vast range of passes or creative play. Combative and steady.
And remember when cahill and ridgewell and whitts played at old trafford under odreary they put in a galiant effort in an early career apps
