On a lighter note, if you are in The Bartons pre match, say hello. I am relying on you rallying people the other side of the Lower Holte come 19 minutes.

I was very impressed with your efforts at the Spurs game. A lot of work had gone into that. I hope it is the nucleus of a mental Holte End next season.

L8 is the place to be for 100% atmosphere/singing throughout the whole match in a revived Holte End under our new man PL, he has even swapped dugouts to be nearer BRIGADA 1874!

I note that L8 and L9 (Enclosure) are both areas of reduced prices. This means they will be full for every game which can only help with the noise created. I also think that the acoustics in that corner are better than where they were last season.

Absolutley DCF, that was one of the reasons, along with subs, manager and other staff seeing us giving it OUR all when they are warming up and hopefully being seen on match day tv coverage with flags, 2 sticks etc and most important of all.................................................NOISE !

I think you will see it spread around the ground this season. I have been concerned for many years about noise levels generated at Villa Park and the same humdrum chants. Brigade 1874 is an excellent initiative and I wish you all every success. Just hope it spreads to P8!

As the match against Everton will be our first game as a group in L8 we've decided to take the unusual step to publish our plans so that people in the section who aren't group members know what's going on.

For the game on Saturday we've got a display planned that will take up the back part of L8, from around row MM backwards.

The display will include a static surfer and a number of small tifo flags either side of the surfer. These flags will be taped to the seats as you arrive.

As the players come out we'll raise the surfer and if you've got a flag on your seat then get it flying. The surfer is to remain static so if it's not over you don't try and grab it.

Once the game kicks off we'll drop the surfer.

At the end of the game a member of the group will come round to collect the flags, this isn't because we're stingy bastards it's because one day we want enough of these to cover large swathes of the Holte.

All going well this should be a nice little display to get the season at VP started, we appreciate your cooperation in making it work.

Sounds fun. Call me stupid, but what's a surfer?
