Why did they sing the Tracie Andrews song last night?

Simple answer is that we didn't mate, that was some chap in a hat about 10 yards in front of us to the right.

I don't particulalrly like the tracey andrews songs at the best fo times, but no members were singing it last night.

In that case, I'm impressed that he managed to make himself sound like 10 people singing in unison.

Perhaps other people were singing it but i can assure you none of the group were. It wasn't exclusively Brigada 1874 who were making up chants and is it not plausible that other people were joining in with this bloke who aren't in the group?

That is good to hear (not the chant obviously).

How do you know who is “in” the group.  Do people need to join?

Group members are those that attend meetings get involved in producing banners etc and pay subs! People obviously don't need to be a member to get involved with the singing/chanting.

If anyone is interested in doing more then just speak to any of the lads at the game or on the forum.

Then next time shout (or sing!) down those in the wrong.

That’s a simple but important point.  You guys are doing great stuff but in many ways you’ve become the spokesmen of Villa fans and with that comes responsibility to do things correctly, in the Villa way.

They surely can't be held responsible for everything sung by Villa fans?

I am speaking out of turn here however, but if they’re singing “villa songs” then they need to understand  that some are unacceptable.

But what's that got to do with them being responsible for what others sing?

Not being argumantative here, just don't get how your point relates to what you've quoted.

Indeed, why have they got more responsibility to put a stop to the unacceptable songs of others than say, the people complaining about the songs?

How have they?

They're a bunch of kids bringing flags and making a noise, good luck to them, but they don't have any particular responsibility beyond that of anyone in the ground.

I'm not a fan of the old 'Tracey Andrews is evil' type thing, though I agree the song out of order. Still, I wonder how much offence it really causes? I never heard it from where I was, and I know it. If you don't know it, I doubt you'd pick up on the words.

I find it offensive. And I can just imagine the reaction if the roles were reversed and small heath sang about killing Villa fans. And in a crowd that small and all in fairly small area it's pretty easy to hear the words.
