They've said there was no damage caused. We've been told semi-officially that the gates were forced open - both could be true.

Totally agree alexpayne, tonight also for the 1st time in my life I am embarrassed and ashamed to be a fan of Aston villa , and it is nothing to do with randy or mcleish that makes me feel this way, it's the shameful and disgusting scenes at villa park from so called fans.

Totally agree.

I don't. I'll never be afraid or ashamed to say i'm a Villa fan.

As Legion said, on occasions ashamed of a minority. I don't condone them breaking through the gates, etc, but I understand why they turned up in the first place. At least they've tried to do something about it.

Regarding the protesters, I don't think think they're tossers or arseholes. Nor were they an embarrassment. Sure, the media focus on the lowest common denominator for the most extreme views, but I'll best the vast majority saw it as an opportunity to let of some steam, even have a bit of a laugh. No harm done.

I've only seen what SSN chose to show. Somehow made Newcastle protests look classy imo. But then no one's ever shoved a microphone in front of my face and encouraged me to voice emotional opinions.

The media are telling a few porkies. There was much more than 500 protesting at Villa Park.

Unless they are all hiding in the pictures and telly stuff I have seen so far then 500 is about right, certainly not the thousands you alone (on here) are claiming.

I guess our season tickets will go up next year to pay for those damaged gates.  Thanks a bunch

There was more than 500. Do you think the Villa staff counted them one-by-one?

Here's a little bit of advice, don't believe everything the media tells you...

To be fair the estimate of 1500 looks about right from the pictures on Facebook.

And how much of ticket prices are paying off MoN, GH and potentially sha for McLeish?

Ha ha ha.

If the general mood of this board over the last few weeks could be summed up in a facial expression, it is the one on that guy's face.

ALITA, it's not the fact that he's been manager of SHA that is the problem. It's simply that he's not exactly any good.

But I am sure there are loads of 'not any good' managers out there, who if they were in the frame would not provoke this much negative reaction.

I wanted a world class manager;
I would happily have accepted an excellent manager;
The least I thought we'd get is a good manager;
I would have been disappointed if we appointed a fair manager;
and unhappy with a poor manager.

Birmingham City's manager has spent a fortune compared to his typical relegation rivals but has produced turgid football and been relegated twice. I don't think he even makes that bottom category.

I can't stand this.

I find myself repeatedly agreeing with you.

I'm going to the doctor to get some mental pills or something, this can't be right.

I'll believe the people I trust. 500 and a forced gate.
