About time we started dishing out hammerings to these type of clubs again.

0-4 Villa.

Memories of Leicester, Wolves, Derby away days.

Leicester always seemed to be our bogey team.

I've been worrying about this fixture ever since they came up.  They have to beat us one day (a la Wolves) and I fear it will be now.  I really hope I'm wrong but I think it'll be 2-1 to them.  We just didn't really know how to lose derby games under MON and now it seems we rarely win them.

So what have we left to hope for at end of season? Optimistically with all wins we could have 54pts or 50 with 2 wins and three draws or will it be 44 and be happy with lower mid-table finish and a summer to consider things? I want to see all wins from here and it is not impossible..we get nowhere but we do get some hope for future.
I thought any lost game or even a draw, up to now, was unacceptable. Now it is just hoping we are get enough to remain a decent distance away from 'the zone' to come back revived and aware for the next season; without major figures going elsewhere any time soon.
It is all academic now. As long as we can accumulate 5-6 points over remaining fixtures we will retain some self respect, if naught else.

Officials:
Referee - PHIL DOWD
Assistant Referee 01 - SCOTT LEDGER
Assistant Referee 02 - ADAM WATTS
Fourth Official - ANTHONY TAYLOR
Phil Dowd scares me massively, Adam Watts is avery very good linesman and is getting noticed now, recentley done the Brazil v Scotland game and is picking up lots of bi games in England

If we get to 54 pts it will be nothing short of a miracle, or my maths has badly let me down!

2-2 I'm liking the look of that Odemwingie chap, but Bent will keep the wolf from the door.

I don't normally do predictions as I reckon it's unlucky. Then again, we've hardly been blessed with excessive luck this year so I might as well.

Baggies 1 (Odemwingie 73)
Villa 2 (Bent 17, Agbonlahor 86)

WBA 1-3 Villa
Brunt

Bent x 2
Downing

Friedel
Walker Dunne Collins Young
Downing Petrov NRC Young
Gabby Bent

We will find this game easier than the Stoke game. They'll play into our hands & we'll hit them.

Doesn't matter who the assistants are or how good we have as good as lost this match before we start with Dowd in charge.  Cue several penalty refusals for Villa and a soft one for them.  On the other hand he owes us a good one, oh hang on I've just seen some pigs flying past my window.

Bent has scored 4 in his last 3 away games and I can't see him not scoring again here against the WBA defence. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet either - they've got 13 in the last 6 games (including Blues away, plus Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, and Arsenal - all in all a tricky run of fixtures).

I'd take a draw and a good performance I reckon. 2-2, perhaps 1-1. They seem to get a lot of late goals, and we concede a few, so I reckon there'll be a bit of squeaky bum time.

The only choice I guess is Gabby or Heskey. I think I'd go with Gabby's pace against their defence, though I get the feeling Houllier doesn't think Gabby and Bent make great partners (they don't).

1-1 for me, they are playing well but then again so are we!
