I've got a feeling that Fulham might be close to going down. They're almost as pathetic in front of goal as the Villa and I think that may catch up with them.

I've also gone for West Ham and Blackpool. This means that I have all of the current bottom three surviving.

Not West Ham, there are only 4 clubs less likely according to this.

There are a lot of games to be played between teams down at the bottom so it maybe that 40 points is enought to stay up. We need to make sure that for our home games we have left that a rallying cry is made by the club that for those games we fill the ground and stay with the players for the 90 minutes. It is pointless or doing anything else.

I know Saturday was awful but our support wasn't there either. I am convinced that if the fans turn up the players will as well.

It will take someone other than Houlier or one of the players making the call though. Martin Laursen making a speech on the pitch beforehand might do.

He's been a busy bloke whilst he's been away.

Coaching badges and coaching at a decent enough level to now get a gig at the Villa (why else would he be constantly put forward as such an obvious choice, right?) And now he's apparently mastered public speaking to the extent that we are expecting Churchill-esque motivational pep talks on the pitch pre game.

Martin Laursen: the New Anthony Robbins

Just been on Betfair and Villa are 7/1 to go down but only 11/4 to finish in the top 10.

I know which one looks a better bet at the moment.

I've just seen Blackpool's fixtures, and after Fulham away next they have 4 home games on the trot in April, I can see them finishing top 10.
