Can anyone summarise the last couple of pages? I'm a slow reader

Man sacked by football club for using up the internet's entire stockpile of exclamation marks on H&V^ See, you have to use an alternative now~

On a lighter note, I got confirmed in a new job at our beloved Aston Villa today.

I'm going to do the statistics and historical info on their website.

Also on a lighter note, I've got a new job as a solicitor and I'm going to handle the unfair dismissal case for the bloke whose just got the job at the Villa to do the statistics and historical info on their website.

Shit!

I knew I wouldn't make it to the magical safe 3 month mark.

:-) ... But it's actually 12 months - you can't take ET action within that time-frame.

I'm thinking of taking my employer to an industrial tribunal. Yesterday they made me interview Sharon Stone while she was standing outside in the cold wearing a very tight dress.

Her nipples were like the wheelnuts on a Scania truck. I don't think I will sleep properly for months

Gentlemen ... whatever you say I did and how I did it it on that thread, I have a collection of e-mails from estimable people who had and have quite a different opinion.

Is it me or does he still come across as being a bit arrogant and condescending?

I wonder what you have to do to be considered estimable.   Estimable, estimable it is one of those words you say in your sleep which swim about in your subconscious mind like eels made of letters.   Doctor, doctor am I estimable or inestimable?   I must know.   Fuck, now I have knocked that glass of water all over the duvet.  Dennis Potter had the same trouble with the word elbow.

Who wants to be held in esteem anyway?

I don't want to be held at all. Leave me the fuck alone.

I want to be free to do what I want to do.

In my experience, an employee 'winning' an unfair dismissal tribunal award doesn't necessarily mean they were right and the employer was wrong [often it's six of one and half a dozen of the other anyway], but that the employer didn't follow agreed procedures.

Here's some bumph on unfair dismissal:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/RedundancyAndLeavingYourJob/Dismissal/DG_10026692

Some employers have 'I like my employer' type groups on Facebook. There's no way on earth I'd join any such group. Where I work, comments made on Facebook have been included in disciplinary hearings, and whilst I'm not aware of any action being taken about staff posting on Facebook when off sick, have heard cynical comments about staff being off sick with migraines spending the day posting on Facebook.

In other words, if you want to comment in public about your employers, don't be shocked if the comments come back and bite you on the backside.

'Estimable'. I have the same problem with 'enervated'.

I got home from work the other night and realised that I was either enervated, or not.

I wish I drank less. Or more.

If somebody has gone up in your estimation, does that mean you are going to sell them as a slave or are thinking of harvesting their organs?

thats not the point really. if he upsets H & V then they can ban him, but losing yer job is over the top. 15 years ago everyone knew the rules of the internet and played by them -i.e. if you lost an arguement or got a bit upset by anything - hard luck.  now due to the efforts of various governments, companies and lawyers, its full of kiddies, dullard celebrities droning on twitter and shopping sites. If you're likely to want to sue someone or sack them because of something they say about you then really you shouldn't be on the internet - you're ruining it. I don't know if anyone complained to the club about him but if they did they're a bit of a tart and should grow some balls. If the club just decided to sack him on the basis that it may be have upset someone then whoever did it was bit of a tart. That all IMO in case some knobhead wants to sue me - i wouldn't put it past them :0)
