Also, how do you factor in replays? Say for example a plucky non-league side gains a creditable draw against Man U in the 3rd round and this has happened twice in recent years, how will the seeding work then?

i think the best way to get the spark back into the domestic trophies is to only let the team who won the premier league and the runners up into the champions league and then the teams who win the league and fa cups have the remaining 2 places, it will rid us of the sky four and teams will not put half strength teams out and will want to win the trophies, if the same team wins the league and a trophy then the runner up will get the space! this is the best way forward.
