CJ - Me too. Too much bias because of television etc already. Give Tamworth a chance I say.
Seeding would be the final death knell for a once great competition.
Dover disappointed that their reward is a trip to Huddersfield when Manchester United and Liverpool already face each other at least twice a season? Tough. It's the luck of the draw.
To truly make it a fair knock-out competition, the PL sides should be brought in at the 1st round - there'd be even more upsets then. Giving the PL sides a bye until the third round makes it far too easy for them.
Whoever suggests seeding, dose'nt really understand the F.A Cup at all.
As for our draw, it'll be tough, it was last time we played there.
Oh I do. The FA Cup for me ranks the highest. All my life I have waited for us to win it. When we won the League in 81 I still thought not winning the FA Cup that season was a failure. Not making an effort in the 2000 final made me mad and don't mention the semi last season. I am still replaying the match in my head on how we could have won it.
And year after year after year of mouthwatering finals between Man U and Chelsea.
I think you'll find Pompey got to the final last year.
He's talking about what would happen were the FA Cup to be seeded.
But would'nt Pompey have beeen seeded being a Premiership club at the time? Anyway, it's still a terrible idea.
Torquay v Carlisle
Norwich v Droylsden/Leyton Orient
Watford v Hartlepool/Yeovil
Burton v Middlesbrough
Wycombe v Hereford/Lincoln
Crawley/Swindon v Derby
Huddersfield v Dover
Brighton/FC United of Manchester v Portsmouth
These not so lucrative draws are a no reward for the hard work smaller teams have put in to get this far. I think the FA Cup 3rd round, and only this round, should be seeded.
The 64 teams should be ranked 1 to 64 in order based on the League position at the end of previous season and 1 should play 64 with 2 playing 63 and so on. Coin toss should decide home or away to be sorted between Clubs.
Nah, cant agree with that. The whole excitement of the FA Cup lays in the fact that when teams are pulled from the hat, you dont know what opposition they're or you are gonna get. The competition would lose some appeal once seeding is intorduced. Looks whats happened to Competitions like the Euro Cup/ CL and the WC since seeding was introduced. Some of that thrill of the draw has gone.
Seeding ?? I didnt like having to look at that objectionable mancunian twat gallagher doing the draw either, but even that couldnt make me favour changing 138 years of tradition.
Another thing against seeding - given that the 20 PL teams would play 20 of the ones who got through rounds 1 & 2 - the Championship teams would more or less just play one another!
Also, how do you factor in replays? Say for example a plucky non-league side gains a creditable draw against Man U in the 3rd round and this has happened twice in recent years, how will the seeding work then?
Just had a Baggies fan text me: 'Can I lend your Sandwell library card so I can get tickets for Reading?'
Good draw. Why shouldn't we get through against Sheffield Utd? They'll give us a game, but I'm confident of a victory at Brammel Lane.
Is it me, or do Chavski get a really easy home draw every single fekin year.
Seeding would be a great idea. We should introduce that in the same season we play game 39 (with our luck Chelsea or Man U) in Jakarta.
Is it me, or do Chavski get a really easy home draw every single fekin year.
2011 - Ipswich (h)
2010 - Watford (h)
2009 - Southend (h)
2008 - QPR (h)
2007 - Macclesfield (h)
2006 - Huddersfield (h)

2004 - last time they were away, to Watford.
So no, it's not just you. They are jammy bastards.
Sod seeding, I'd go the other way entirely, put all clubs in the same hat from the first qualifying round!
Lye Town v Chelsea
Pilkington XXX v Manchester United
Villa to get a tricky tie away at Blackpool Wren Rovers.
