can the moderators add Houllier to the poll and see how we rate him?

Leaving when he did limited our options.I'd say the apparent reluctance to "poach" somebody else's manager has been more of a limiting factor. I have to say that without actually knowing who the boss will be yet, I'm very disappointed with the list of names so far. I'm trying to talk myself into being excited by a Houllier/MacDonald partnership, but in truth it's really not what I expected to see 5 years in now that O'Neill has left. All the jobless managers linked so far are out of work for a reason, and it just smacks of there not being any money left for either a decent manager or new players.Where has this bit about not wanting to poach other managers come from? I know the General talked about it from his OWN perspective as a fan, but has the CLUB said anything about this? Who would you like to see from another club? Moyes is out as are some of the other currently employed favorites being bandied about. They have been asked and have no interest in leaving their clubs in a similar situation to how we have been left by MON. So who else? Someone like Holloway? That might be the type who might consider leaving their clubs to come to Villa. Is that the caliber you have in mind? Not having a go; just asking the question...

oh, didn't realise we only got one vote. but guess that makes sense.Of the 5 candidates (supposedly - maybe we could start a new poll with just them?) GH would get my vote. As long as he comes as manager, not Director of Football. That never works in the PL. The players don't know who's the boss.

Weren't Sven's Lazio massively bank rolled? So if we are to be similarly bankrolled then his priors are relevant otherwise not. I think we need a guy who has had limited resourced but made a pretty good team play above their natural level, something which MON was able to do and BFR for that matter. Someone like Hughes or Allerdyce would fit here but aren't available therefore, probably AC is the best option of those available. Ideally we would get someone like Jol. If that is the end game why not line him up and leave KMac in charge in the interim. Medium term thinking over short termism.

You are criticizing them because they want to win trophies? The fact that they didnt like a manager who did not bring them the trophies they wanted and should have been competing for renders them glory-hunters?No, supporting Liverpool renders them gloryhunters. Even if they live and grew up in Liverpool? Don't see it myself.
