Milner  can not be match fit as he has not played ant games. So I expect him to be sub.

Must admit I don't follow the reserves too closely, but does anyone know what formation Kevin Mac usually favours?

I've seen him use 4-3-3 and 4-5-1. I'm not a regular reserve team attendee though.

3-0 Villa, an odds on home win, just like Wigan last year. We have to win these sorts of games to be in with a shout of Euro qualification, 3 pointer, not one, certainly no room for losing, not to those lovable, chirpy, cockneys we all so love and admire.

More likely to be NRC with Petrov, more of an orthodox 4-2-3-1, seeing as Milner, along with everything else, has had no pre-season.

I hope Milner doesn't play. Not because he's off, but because the boo boys will have an effect on the rest of the team.

Give someone else a chance.

Can't remember as unpredictable a game as this in years.

We could win 4-0 or lose 2-0. Depends on how the players are feeling.

I think Gabby will probably play regardless of fitness and Petrov will probably be knackered.

I'vde never been keen on West Ham and hate their owners, so I've gone for a win more out of hope than expectation.

I think you boys will win tomorrow 2-0, dont know who will be in your team, but whoever plays for the Villa dont boo your players, it serves no purpose whatsoever.

Oh, and good luck for the season, as long as you finish below us lol

Has it been confirmed Davies and Gabby are definitely out? I have a feeling Luke Young will tuck into the centre of defence beside Dunne at the expense of Clarke. Beye or Lichaj on the right.

I can't remember feeling so nervous/intrigued by the start of a new season. I really don't know what to expect in the coming days and months. If nothing, it's restored a bit of faith in the magic, unpredicability of football in an increasingly predictable era.

Live on Setanta Ireland tomorrow afternoon, Brian Little as pundit, watching a no doubt sun-drenched Villa Park (first day of the season rule that it's scorching in't it?)...I really can't wait.

I just have this feeling that tomorrow will see a performance free of stress. Much more free flowing and without inhibition. You also sense a lifting of spirits now that MON has left and everyone can fight for a spot in the line up. I'll go for 2-0 win and more importantly a very attacking display at home.
