One of my best days at the football was back in what was it 2001 when we sent them down.

I had a ST on the back row of the Lower Doug and we were about 10 feet from them crying.

fantastic day

Has anyone made any jokes about Coventry being the perfect club for women beater King because they couldn't beat anyone?

They hate us the most - some of my extended family are on that side of the tracks and they really hate "you lot" as we get described.

Back on thread title - I was listening to the radio this morning discussing this and they said may be a problem with women having demo etc , my thoughts are why just women protesting?  I would turn up to protest against him he is vile and should not be back being paid to entertain people , I understand he has served his time and has the right to a living etc but go and make one out of the public eye you vile man

The term 'sent to Coventry' was never meant to be a good thing, lets face it.

I also attended a Wolves v Coventry game as an invited guest of WSFA. Throughout the entire match all the Coventry fans sang was 'Sh*t on the Villa'. They lost 4-1.

Same here, I went to a very foggy Britannia Stadium about three or four seasons back when they played Stoke and it was all "shit on the Villa" from the Cov lot then too.

East19 comments are bang on. They despise Villa more than anyone else by a long way. I have lived in Coventry for most of my 48 years and have many mates that are Cov fans. The only wind up I have with them is to occasionally show them a copy of my Birth Certificate stating Born: Nursery Road Lozells, Sub District of Aston, Birmingham 1961.
2001 and relegating Coventry was a superb day. My Season Ticket that year was next to the away enclosure and nobody sang "We'll Meet Again" loader than me that day, mates or not.

Yes great moment when Merse curled it into the top corner-marlin king shouldn't be given a chance to play at that level in my opinion but then again neither should lee Hughes after killing someone drink driving and then running from the scene, but I guess clubs these days have no morals .

What a great day it was. I'd actually arrived late thanks to a delay at New Street, and the first thing I saw as I came up the stairs was Hadji making it 2-0 to them. Then Vassell scrambled one, JPA's first goal (great goal as well), and then Merse well and truly fucking them with one of the goals of the season. SX, I agree with you, the "We'll Meet Again" that day was the highlight of the season.

I would love to get the whole of that game on DVD but can't find it anywhere, only edited highlights.

I once had a cheeseburger thrown at me in Cov.

My crime? Having a Mohawk. I took a bite out of it

PS. Warwick Uni is nice, that's in Cov....but that doesn't really count !

It sure is. The missus went there. It's like driving into a different country when you drive through the campus.

You can walk around the campus at 3 in the morning, not giving a toss about who's about. I wouldn't dare do that in Coventry town centre.

Speaking of which, I went once. Didn't like it. Never went back. And from what everyone else has said, I'm quite glad it was cold and I was wearing a coat ... I'm sure some of the locals would have enjoyed picking on a 21 year old student with a Villa shirt on.

Thats better than one of my visits to Highfield Road, I was in the caged away end right near the fence and when Garry Thompson scored v Cov, some of their delightful arseholes spat at me 3 times hitting me on my shoulder and face.

Lovely people and place.
