Those arent serious are they?

One is.

The frightening thing is that it's actually quite difficult to work out which is the serious one.

If they're having a clear-out, and why would they? I'd sooner have Rodwell.

Player power speaks volumes these days unfortunately. Everton are unlikely to even secure Europa League and a number of their "top players" are reportedly unhappy (admittedly according to the media). Will be a good test of Moyes management this summer and we all know what happened with Lescott.

Another club with an interesting summer ahead I think. They have reached a plateau from which it is difficult to see them advancing or declining to any great degree. I think this will be a very interesting summer for a lot of clubs, not least all of the Sky 4

Chelsea - ageing squad, what have we got to do to win the CL and do we want to spend the money necessary to do it? And can we attract those players who will make the difference?

Arsenal - too much reliance on Fabregas, lot of players who look as if they are not quite good enough to win top honours?

Man Utd - shades of a one man team at times this year, ageing key players, some youngsters who are good but maybe not quite good enough?

Liverpool - definite shades of a two man team. Will Torres stay? Gerrard's influence on the decline slowly?

All this against a backdrop of what I think is a rapidly diminishing pool of top quality players. And that's before you consider whether they want to come to England to play in the case of the overseas ones. And then there is the Man City factor of course....

Where do they get them from?

From the BBC gossip column:

Quote
Barcelona are ready to make a summer bid for Newcastle defender Steven Taylor, who is valued at about £8m.
Full story: Daily Mirror

I think the only thing that would surpass that would be to read:

Quote
Arsene Wenger is making Rory Delap his number one target  this summer, the Arsenal boss is a long time admirer of the hard working midfielder and sees him as the ideal replacement for Barcelona bound Cesc Febregas.

Neither of those are as bad as this on.

Quote
Argentina striker Carlos Tevez is on the verge of demanding a transfer from Manchester City, with Liverpool ready to pay £18m.

So Citeh will sell their best striker to Liverpool for a £12mil loss one year on.

Again from the BBC website:

Manchester City and Aston Villa are competing to sign PSV Eindhoven's Bulgarian international right-back Stanislav Manolev, 24, for £5m.
Full story: Daily Mail

If we do that would be  3 RB's on the bench next  season.

Beye will definitely be off and wether Young will stay after this season I think is doubtful.

Would any of us swap Milner for Hart, Richards and Ireland?

Just a thought.

Definitely on Beye. It wouldn't surprise me if Young quits football altogether.

Richards, Ireland and Tevez might be a good deal! Or Richards, Ireland and Santa Cruz if we are more realistic. If he goes, it will be to United I think though.

We should buy Scott Parker. Great box-to-box midfielder who's one of the best in the league at keeping the ball Xavi-stylee and has got a great array of passing abilities. I think he's better than Petrov and if Martin really feels the need to buy another British player, Parker is the man he should sign.

I’d have Ireland and Parker.

We’d have some real depth and quality in the middle of the park with Petrov, Milner, Parker and Ireland to choose from.

No.

I wouldn't want Richards full stop, and whilst I like Ireland, I think we're ok keeper wise for a year or two.

I think getting a play maker in midfeld is def more important than a holding player.  For the simple reason that our biggest flaw this season has been a lack of invention, no plan c, an Arteta type would go a long way to solving this.

While a good holding player is a big plus in the morden, its not essational, and in our case its about getting the right balance and if we started keeping the ball better then it wouldn't be so much of a issue.
