I'm hearing great things about Blackburn's Steven Nzonzi. He only cost them £500k last season and Big Fat Sam reckons he's been their player of the year. A talented, young understudy for Petrov? He's only 21 but played every single game for them this season.

West Brom have declined £4m bid from West Ham for Dorrans. They claim he's not for sale but a few million more could force their hand knowing how tight their chairman tends to be with the finances. Baggies really need to tighten up at the back though so a swap deal for Davies would make sense for both teams, however there are question marks over whether Dorrans could cut it in the PL though.

I'm not tha impressed with what Ive seen. He's very tall and fiarly tidy on the ball but nothing special.
Anyway, I think we have the replacement for Petrov: Milner. We just need that dynamo in front of him to pull the strings. Failing that, a quarterbackplayer to pull the strings and protect the back four. That's far more specialised and less likely to happen though.

Four things I'd do.
1- Striker.
2- Playmaker.
3- Winger alternative.
4- Sort the rightback situation out.

Get the best possible men for those jobs and we'll be a force.

I'd swap a class holding player for the playmaker.  I think Milner is flourishing as our attacking central player and would like to see that continue!

Milner would still get forward and support attacks. His engine would allow him to recover. That said, having him as the attacking midfielder with a class holding player would be almost as good. I just think we can make better use of his mobility and energy screening the defence and supporting attacks. The absolute archetypal box to box midfielder. I think he'd relish that and he'd always be in the game, in control of it. I'd make him Captain in support of this too. Who better?

Then, get a natural playmaker/attacking midfielder to link the fowards and wingers up. Milner can do this (he can do anything, seemingly) but there are more natural players for this role.
