Apparently now Lee, according to wrestleview.com very good website this:
The Associated Press is now reporting that law enforcement officials close to the current investigation have now confirmed that Chris Benoit strangled his wife Nancy with an electrical chord on Saturday, smothered his son Daniel with a bag on Sunday and then hung himslef in his basement/weight room on Monday.

In what is both shocking and rather gruesome details, Nancy's wrists and feet were bound with tape and blood was found under the head when her body was discovered. As recapped in the press conference held earlier today outside the residence (Part 1 and Part 2), a bible was found placed next to the bodies of both Nancy and Daniel.

The press conference also confirmed that Benoit hung himself with a cord in his basement weight room. While authorities didn't want to go into details about rumors of Benoit sending out curious text messages, it is believed that at least one WWE wrestler (believed to be Chavo Guerrero) received a text message on a delayed basis from Benoit. Officials are still remaining quiet as to what the actual text messages said.

He must of been fucked up bad! Everyone said he loved his family so much, but he was private person but his wife filled for divorce in 2003 but then two days later took it back maybe he wasn't a angel as everyone put it because he use to be very strict on his kids as well so maybe thats why he was private.

So sad as he was my fav wrestler of all time and had the upmost respect for him in the ring, but we never get to see him out of the ring do we?

He'll come back in 6 months as another character.

I wonder it he gave his wife a legdrop off the top rope?

WWE® Shocked At Latest Developments In Benoit Tragedy, Concerned By Sensationalistic Reporting

STAMFORD, Conn., June 26, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment is stunned and saddened by the details released by local authorities concerning the double homicide-suicide involving Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son, Daniel.

However, WWE is concerned with the sensationalistic reporting and speculation being undertaken by some members of the media following the press conference held by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney.  During the press conference, the investigating authorities made the following points, all of which run contrary to the media speculation that "roid rage" was a factor in the senseless murders and suicide:

1. The authorities stated that all drugs found in the house were believed to be legal prescriptions.

2. Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation).  Authorities had no factual basis to speculate as to Benoit’s state of mind, and rightly did not do so.

3. Toxicology tests have not even been completed, so there is no current evidence that Benoit even had steroids or any other substance in his body. In that regard, on the last test done on Benoit by WWE's independently administered drug testing program, done on April 10, 2007, Benoit tested negative.

4. The physical findings announced by authorities indicate deliberation, not rage. The wife's feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death. By the account of the authorities, there were substantial periods of time between the death of the wife and the death of the son, again suggesting deliberate thought, not rage. The presence of a Bible by each is also not an act of rage.

5. WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.

WWE is continuing to monitor the ongoing investigation being conducted by local authorities.

The wrestling ain't for real! How can someone be one of the best in a completely acted out scenario?

Because to do the moves which are planned takes a lot of skill! Chris could do anything! He could do "proper" wrestling in a era were it was looked down on! He should go in the HOF and also he should be in the top 10 or even 5 or all time greats!

So it's akin to Ice Skating or Ballroom Dancing?

The BBC should do a Strictly Come Wrestling.

Benoit was one of the top 5 wrestlers of all time. Very sad that he must have had so many demons out of the ring.

So many moves he and Malenko created, he was the link between the Harts and the Guererros. Very, very sad. I hope he does get recognised in the hall of fame although I don't think it will be for a while as all these people from outside wrestling are all sensationalising it at the mo.

Maybe in a few years.

It's been done, it was called "tough enough" i think.

It showed how hard you have to train and committed you have to be to wrestle professionally (touring, pressure to find a new gimmic/storyline). I think if you call it fake it's like watching a play/movie saying it was good and someone saying "but it was fake"  "...yes, genius ! i know that..."

But of course all that is something you can't comprehend/take on board, wonder why that is !
