JBL's departure was a huge shock, but a real sign of the man he was. Gave no inkling he was going, but went out at the biggest stage of all MASSIVELY putting over his biggest wrestling friend. Think they missed a trick with it tho, because I assumed the "I quit" thing was the start of a storyline, not the end of a career.
I LOVED Batista's departure. Having been such a domineering bully in the months that preceded his departure, it was really funny to see him supposedly banged up in that wheelchair, whining like a spoilt child. There's no way they'd have got him to do anything he really didn't want to, so I ended up with more respect for Batista the performer than I previously had.
Am really disappointed to see Edge retire, but rather he did so now than the possible alternative. Hogan's comments on Twitter have been interesting tho. Almost as if he was trying to encourage him to carry on somewhere (TNA) that might legally allow him to do so. Weird.
Fully expect Del Rio to beat Christian for the vacant title now. As much as I love Captain Charisma, I wanted to see him 'earn' his title run rather than being handed it like a "with sympathy" card and I haven't seen anything in the way WWE has used him since his return to suggest they considered him worthy of a World Championship.
