Is NFL Network a bit like Setanta Sports over here in that you have to pay on top of existing cable coverage to receive it?

Not extra, it's just that some cable providers don't carry it - including the major cable provider in.......DALLAS!!!  Really looking forward to that game, Green Bay is my team (after the Steelers).

I watched a bit of that!! The pitch was in such a terrible state, a bit like the Miami Dolphins. I still think the Steelers may stop the Pats bandwagon when they meet.

They put new sod down on the field on Saturday evening, as the pitch had tekn a pounding over the last few weeks with College and High School games.  They should have looked at the weather forecast and realised they were getting two inches or rain on Monday and not bothered.  They had it covered, but the tarp leaked at the seams, which is why every 20 yards, there was a bog.

The summariser back in the studio over here kept on taking the piss out of the wembley groundstaff, about not getting the pitch ready for the croatia match after Dolphins v Giants, saying how much better it was in Pittsburgh where they'd been able to replace a pitch in 24 hours, when the picture cut to the ploughed field they ended up playing on.

The look on his face was priceless! He's a good pundit, but that moment was very funny. It was the same problem at Pittsburgh that Blues had last year, laying a pitch and then it shits down for the next 2 days.

EDIT: can't wait for Packers against Cowboys on Thursday!

American NFL hooligans are funny...

“It was in recognition of a problem that had been gaining a little bit of momentum that we have observed lately,” Jones said in a telephone interview after the game. He said security had been increased at each of the stadium’s eight spiral ramps during halftime.

The scene at Gate D was markedly different during halftime of the Jets’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous week, when several hundred men congregated on one of the ramps and chanted at the few women in the crowd to bare their breasts. If the women did not comply, plastic beer bottles and spit were launched in their direction. There were about 10 security guards standing near the bottom of the ramp, but the behavior was not stopped.

According to several fans and stadium workers, such behavior has been going on at Jets home games for years. But it apparently had not been a problem at Giants home games. The Jets do not play at Giants Stadium again until Dec. 9, when they face the Cleveland Browns."

Quite possibly the worst game ever played last night.....Pittsburgh Steelers vs Miami Dolphins, final sore: 3-0.   Steelers won it with a field goal in the last 30 seconds.  Utter, utter crap - just like the weather here yesterday.

Same turf providers as Wembley ?

Having watched college and NFL games in that stadium on consecutive days, if ever there was a case for artificial turf, this is it.

The standard of artificial turf these days is so good that I can't understand why cold/wet weather stadiums or those with heavy use don't have it.

Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died a day after being shot.

Sad day for the Redskins & The NFL.

Not sure if this link will work but here goes...

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7490604

Sad that Taylor didn't make it. From what I've been reading, it appeared that he had began to turn his life around and distance himself from the "friends" he'd been caught up in previous trouble with.

People are beginning to say that it wasn't a burglary gone wrong but that enemies from Taylor's past may have been after him

From a Cowboys man who's team is 10-1 - I think it could be the Pack!!

Could be a points-fest but I think Favre might exploit our secondary and especially Roy Williams who has gone downhill since I bought a shirt with his name on the back when I last visited Dallas!!

Might be a big night for Jason Witten - we shall see......

Please let the Cowboys trounce Green Bay. I am not a Cowboys fan, but for me Green Bay are the equivalent of that mob from down the Sty, and Brett Favre is my Trevor Francis of the NFL.

Go Bears!!!

In terms of history and glory, I would say Green Bay are Villa and the Bears are the shit.   :-

Erm, I don't think Green Bay compare to the shit whatsoever!

It'll be a good game, I like the Romo - Witten - TO connection, but you can't count against Favre, especially if he starts moving the chains.

Did you two not read my post. I said "For me, Green Bay are the equivalent of the shite", refering of course to the fact that I am a Bears fan. I really do dislike them and their "cheesehead" fans. What a bunch of gimps.

Yeah, Go Packers. Go as far away as possible you mutant freaks, and take your stupid cheese wedge hats with you. You are a disgrace to the Mid-West.
