In the last 30 years (ie since the Plunkett era) the two best QBs for my Raiders have been Rich Gannon and Jeff Hostetler.

There was also Todd Marinovich, who's one of the all time "what might of been" players in NFL history

Think I read a bit about Marinovich, was he the one that died recently?

There was one Raiders QB in the 1970s or 80s who could have been quite good but had a serious drug problem.

I hear that Sid Luckman was quite good  ;)     Also, Jim McMahon was decent, but not amazing in the 1980s for us, but wasn't asked to throw the ball an awful lot.

Gannon was quite good, QB in the first Superbowl where I'd watched the season all the way through. Half your team retired after losing that one!

Incredible game going on tonight. Broncos led 24-0 at half time vs the Patriots. Patriots now lead 28-24. Amazing turnaround.

Nope, Marinovich is still alive. He a recovering addict but is now a surf-dude / artist

Maybe you're mixing him up with the ex-NBA player "Pistol" Pete Maravich. He's dead

Just tried to watch the highlights on NFL.com but the video won't play.

Does anyone know if this service is now blocked in the UK ? There was not error or other message.

The videos usually work when I'm on there.

No, I wouldn't get confused with Basketball players, don't really know any of them.

Amazingly something like 13 of the 16 teams in the AFC can still make the play-offs.

The NFC North is becoming as bad as the NFC East for teams not wanting to win it.

The Panthers will destroy whichever one of those Division winners they end up playing (assuming that they don't pass the Saints as well)

I don't know why we've been playing Tolzien ahead of Flynn having seen the game yesterday. Tolzien started and got a good TD but we were toothless after that until McCarthy took him off in favour of Flynn. Then with Flynn we came from 2 TD's down to force overtime and get ahead. Shame our defence couldn't hold them back from getting level again. The division would have been really interesting then. Still at least Flynn gives us some hope that we can at least be competitive against Detroit on Thursday.

They should play Tolzien at running back after his TD yesterday. Overtime was strange in that it seemed so simple for both teams to march down into field goal range on their first posessions then both offences fell apart given another shot.

I like a tie, as they're so rare.

Seriously don't think there's a decent defence in the whole of the NFC North though and unfortunately my Bears have the worst one of the lot. The Lions at least have a good Defensive Line, but not much else. The Packers have Matthews and Hawk is okay, again nothing else.

Panthers look pretty decent, although they're starting to pick up a few injuries on Defence, their Middle Linebacker may be the best in the NFL.

Packers look like we did at Chelsea last season...they look in freefall! Flynn looks a promising QB doesnt he??
