The Jags didn't even try to win. They were playing to run off as much time as possible.

Also, I don't think that I've ever been to a game where the only home team Quarterback jersey on show was the one actually being worn by the player himself

Surely that's the problem with an otherwise excellent draft system.

At this stage, the Jags know they ain't getting anything out of the season, so why win some games and give up a no 1 pick?

Think they will be thinking about the number one draft pick already. I would imagine they'll go for either a QB or an Offensive Lineman.

I was explaining to my riveted girlfriend that the Jag's should be a better team in the future Wembley games, if they pick well in the draft.

Looking at the standings, I can see the Buccaneers winning eventually (their defence is pretty decent) and the Vikings picking up a few more wins before the end of the season.

I can't see where the Jaguars will win a game unless they're playing a team that is resting a lot of players at the end of the regular season.

Best performer in ( and out ) of a Jags shirt was their Mascot.

I know that they have loads of safety harnesses etc, but that took some nerve

A pretty good mascot but he's still no Phillie Phanatic

Maurice Jones-Drew was good up until recently, can't tell if he's starting to lose it, or has a crap Offensive Line. This is because I don't watch many Jag's games, as they're rubbish and bound to lose.

the perfect storm of getting old, lots of injuries, shit OL, and generally shit team who are always behind quickly in games so they ignore the running game. He'd benefit from a move to a better team for the last few years to give him a chance at not being remembered for all of the bad things. Because he was rather good when he was younger.

Here is a random question. For no good reason I have developed an affinity for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in college football.

I have never watched them and dont have the first clue if they are any good. Whats the deal with them?

I own two pieces of their merchandise. One I bought from a Modells in New York simply because it was freezing and I wanted a fleece top to add to my other layers.

Wearing it got me into a conversation in a bar with a chap who went to Uni there and extolled its virtues so I bought a t-shirt as well.

And thats how they became my college team. So whats their story?

Rutgers are a good choice for a Villa fan because the university was instrumental in developing the sport and played in (and won) the first ever College Football game in 1869.

However, they've been pretty ordinary ever since.

It was big news recently (well, it was for those of us who listen to US sports radio) when Rutgers announced that they were switching from the AAC to the Big Ten for next season (please don't ask me to explain the College Football league/division system). The Big 10 want a presence in an east coast metropolitan area (ie a place with lots of TV sets) and Rutgers is really the only semi-decent team in the NYC / Noo Joisey area.

Ray Rice, now of the Baltimore Ravens is probably the best known of their recent players. Their former Head Coach is Greg Schiano**, who's now leading the Tampa Bay Bucs to a disastrous season

Brilliant. I have managed to follow another half arsed club that used to be famous! This works at all ends of my sports supporting spectrum. I really should have guessed.

Do we have a thread on ice hockey? I have a similar question and guess I will get a similar answer!

Big inplay bet on Chicago for this game now. Rodgers was performing absolute miracles so far this season with the horrendous injury list, but with him gone they won't win another game.

Woke up early to watch this before work then found out, for some reason, it hasn't taped.

Amazed to find out we won though. Cutler will be under pressure if he comes back and plays shite now. McCown has done a great job.

I'll watch the repeat when I get home.
