Oh and I'm a Niners fan, have been my whole life.  Was at the NFC Championship game this last season against the Giants.  What a season for the Niners.

Welcome to the thread villalovefc

Sad news today that Oakland Raiders great Ben Davidson has died at age 72

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Davidson

I was wandering around the Oakland Coliseum with some friends about ten years ago when someone yelled out; "Hey, Ben Davidson"................ They were actually yelling at my mate John, who, at the time, was the spitting image of Ben.

I honestly thought you'd win that. At least the sodding Patroits didn't win the Superbowl

Q- What did Penn State know and when did they know it ?

A- They knew what Sandusky was doing, they knew very early on and ...................... they did feck all about it.

In fact it appears that Penn State officials tipped Sandusky off that they knew what he was up to (eg that he'd been seen molesting the kid in the shower) thus putting his victims at even more risk.

I'd be quite happy if the inevitable law suits end up closing down the Penn State football program.

Quote
Key Points of Freeh Report
•  Paterno and others showed "callous and shocking disregard for child victims."
•  Evidence shows Paterno, Spanier, Schultz and Curley did know of 1998 investigation and Paterno "failed to take any action."
•  PSU let Sandusky retire in 1999 "not as a suspected child predator, but as a valued member of the Penn State football legacy," allowing him to groom victims.
•  PSU "concealed critical facts ... to avoid consequences of bad publicity."
•  Paterno "was an integral part of this active decision to conceal" and his firing was justified.
•  PSU did not alert authorities to 2001 assault. Intervening factor in not reporting was conversation between Curley, Paterno.
•  PSU failed to adhere to federal law requiring reporting crimes such as the ones Sandusky committed.

You, sir, are a bounder and a cad of the highest order.

I remember when the CFL tried to expand into the USA, most notably placing the "Stallions" in Baltimore after the NFL Colts did their midnight flit to Indianapolis.

ummmm no.

I actually haven't.

I am not trying to be funny.  I didn't realize there was a Canadian NFL.  I know there is Arena football, but that isn't exclusive to Canada.

If a canadian football league really existed on a substantial level, then why would the NFL be planning on moving into Canada? (Bills to Toronto etc.)

In FACT, googling Canadian Football brings up, as the first article, a link to the NFC South.

I assumed you were joking too pmarachi.

Quite a few NFL players have spent time in the CFL, like Ricky Williams after his drugs ban and Jeff Garcia.

I know that they have larger endzones than in the NFL too, for some reason to do with kick-off returns I think.
