Right, can we all stop pretending that we actually like this shite now and get back to proper sports?

Winter Olympics start on Friday, curling, now there's a sport, it's like chess on ice or something.

I played curling whilst in Switzerland recently. Great fun

I watched the Superbowl via Sky+ before coming into work (3 hours plus condensed into under 60 minutes).

By the end of the First Quarter I was fearing for the Saints as Addai seemed to be running at will. However, Garrett Hartley showed great poise to nail those two Field Goals and claw the Saints back into things.

The onside kick to start the second half was a gutsy call by Payton which changed the momentum and Drew Brees was superb.

The Colts however, were not out of it until Manning threw that INT at the end.

Overall, a pretty good game (with very few penalties) with the result that only Colts fans can be disappointed with. Just a few years ago, the Saints could have been moved (possibly to LA or San Antonio) but the NFL saw how the team's presence could help the city.

Congrats to the Saints

For Dave Cooper, so you don't have to wait till Friday for your curling fix.

WOW

What a game!

I went to two different superbowl parties and they both only put on the volume for the commercials.

There were also bets going on the commercials.

There were some pretty damn funny ones too...

(oh, and I guess the game was good too)

It's the perfect sport for my mother - you get to clean the ice as you play

Looks like this year's Superbowl is finally going to topple the final episode of M*A*S*H from the US TV viewership charts with 106m

You know what, despite the fact that people were going CRAZY about it, it wasn't a big deal.

In the lead up to the Super Bowl, this was SUCH a big deal.

But I didn't even notice it coming on and even some of the sports guys I listen to that were taking about it said it wasn't so bad.

I literally completely didn't even notice it.

Heres the thing.  I would consider myself pro-choice I guess, but I don't like abortion.
I don't think anyone actually LIKES abortion.
Even the most pro-chice person in the world isn't like a "fan" of abortions.
It's not like pro-choice advocates are out there begging people to abort babies.

So to  be honest, I didn't care really.  Tim Tebow hates abortion!?!?!
I mean don't most people?

OF course, but it's constantly used as devisive issue by people playing on emotions.

What really winds me up about the bumper stickers is that it usually a car driven by a man!!

That's exactly what broadcasters such as Tony Kornheiser and TV critics such as the Washington Post's Lisa DeMorias (sp?) said on Monday.

Tebow's mob paid the $3m or whatever for the pre-event controversy, rather than for any buzz generated by the advert itself.
