I would much rather seen Cash and Dendonker in there for Ashley and McGinn. If Liverpool are playing their WC players we should for those available. This might be a long afternoon.
-
I'd take a draw.
-
Chance for Olsen to redeem himself....or not.
Come on Villa.
-
Looking at their starting line up next to ours, you realise what a weak squad we have.
-
Come on Villa boys! Let's do these! UTV!
-
Ashley in for Matty, will be interesting to see how that works out, I m very positive to Emery trying this.
-
Looking at their starting line up next to ours, you realise what a weak squad we have.
Martinez and Cash aside we need at least 4 starting players to take over from current players. At CB along with Diego, at least one midfielder and for sure a forward. Their squad depth will really tell. I hope Emery has enough in his tactics to keep it close but with 5 subs I can see them winning this.
-
Young never lets us down. Anything positive, I'll take it. Hope Liverpool are still at sixes and sevens.
-

I agree with the first part but their subs bench looks pretty weak to me.
-
Kadan Young only turned 16 in June, on the bench, blimey this kid must be a bit special.

That’s because it is and their is no pace in their midfield.
-
Currently sitting on the 11c approaching Perry Barr, hoping to get there in time. I'll take an honourable draw, now!
-
I’d have been tempted to start Ings ahead of Watkins
I’d have started Mark Lillis ahead of McGinn
Olsen in goal too
I am getting a bad feeling
To be fair their bench ain’t great
-
Every manager loves McGinn and shuns Sanson. Just don't geddit.
-
JJ is a huge miss today, his pace, ball carrying and physicality. McGinn tbf was much improved under Emery though.
Watkins is my biggest concern, hopefully today is one of his 4 good appearances for the season
-

Poland didn't reach the latter stages of the WC, so I think it's probably just a case that Young has been picked over Cash, unless the latter is injured.
-
Watkins again ? Oh well
Let's hope he has a stormer .
Suprised to see oxide chamberlain for them , probably be off after 20 minutes..
Still going for a classic villa win .
-
Surprise at right back but otherwise as expected. Assuming that Sanson has not impressed with Sanson in training.
-

That should be a pretty easy one to figure out tbh

He went to the world Cup with a niggle as i remember. Latest news from the press here is that he watched Home Alone on xmas eve, which proves he's Polish.
-
As an aside , must be the cold weathers that have frozen the rivers
-

What's up with JJ?
-
As an aside , must be the cold weathers that have frozen the rivers
Just seen my favourite little river has been seized by the Feds.
-
McGinn might be better further up the pitch. Presume we will be playing with that box like 442 again with Kamara/Luiz sitting so hopefully both McGinn and Buendia can make a big impact. Fabinho was awful pre WC so that is likely their weak point. Young is a surprise call but has been one of our best players this season when called upon. Olsen less so, if he can avoid a disastrous error it will be positive.
-
Classic
Ash slapping gabby on head
-
Every manager loves McGinn and shuns Sanson. Just don't geddit.
How pissed would you be when you know you're technically much better but never get a start?. Get Sanson and Guilbert out of the club immediately, super john McGinn and Cash are superior in every aspect.
Europe here we come!
-

Still injured.
-
I really hope that music gets binned off soon, fucking awful, forget how grating it is

Europe here we come!
For Sanson, we're now on our 3rd manager who apparently doesn't rate him / think he's ready for first team football. No idea what the reason is, but we just need to get rid. It's not worked out. It happens. Time to move on.
-
What an absolutely magnificent sight Villa Park is in those overhead shots.
-
Early shot and early injury.
-
Fucking hell, what on earth were the defence doing there?
-
What a let off
-
Olsen is an idiot.
-
Liverpool score
-
Did Olsen not shout then? Him and Mings injured, let's hope both are o.k.
Nice to see us attacking the Holte in, we must've elected to attack again after winning the toss.
-
Fucking hell.
-
Bollocks
-
Fuck off.
-
Nunez should have scored that . Lucky there
-
Shit. Good goal it must be said.
-
FFS
-
Ffs
-
Well… that’s just bollocks.
-
Early doors but not looking good.
-
Fuck. Brilliant goal, mind.
-
Did Olsen not shout then? Him and Mings injured, let's hope both are o.k.
Nice to see us attacking the Holte in, we must've elected to attack again after winning the toss.
Exactly what I thought, why wasn't he calling. Ming's couldn't see where he was.
-
Great fucking defending lads, well done.
-
FFS Watkins. Open your eyes and take off the clown shoes.
-
Quality goal from Liverpool in fairness.
-
There is the difference, slick passing by them and then Watkins can’t execute a 4 yard pass.
-
Watkins all over
-
No need to go early Ollie.
-
Great fucking defending lads, well done.
To be fair, I think way better defences than ours would have conceded that.
-
Watkins summed up right there. Shite.
-
Just switched on. Forgot Canary Islands time is the same as the UK.
BOLLOCKS!
-
That was a great ball from McGinn in fairness.
Ollie really should be timing his run better.
-
Respecting them a bit too much here.
-
That was a great ball from McGinn in fairness.
Ollie really should be timing his run better.
It was milliseconds ffs
-
FFS Bailey.
-
Bailey with the air shot when it was easier to kick the ball.
-
Bailey with Ollie's boots on. Shocking miss.
-
That's a shocker Leon
-
Aaaargh, ffs.
-
That Watkins offside moment, fucking hell.
Not the fact he went too early, more that 10 yards out with just the keeper between him and the goal, I'd back the keeper every time.
-
That Watkins offside moment, fucking hell.
Not the fact he went too early, more that 10 yards out with just the keeper between him and the goal, I'd back the keeper every time.
Yeah, I never expect to see the net bulge in that situation.
-
Giving the ball away in silly areas. Several times.
-
Champagne football.
How about Olsen up top with Bailey in goal.
-
Oh Leon....
We're playing quite well actually and will get more chances but need to take one otherwise it will just be like Chelsea at home.
-
How the fuck has he not scored that?
-
Fucking hell watkins
-
If only Watkins could FINISH FFS.
-
Emery probably saying 'FFS Watkins' in Basque there.
-
Absolutely shit finisher...
-
Watkins….fucking hell
-
Fucking Ollie Watkins
Not good enough
-
He needs too many chances to score for the level we're aiming for, sadly.
An upgrade in January would be great.
-
Assume with Jim Bogglin on co commentary this is a live feed from LFC TV.
Fucking sounds like it.
-
We're playing such a high line against salah and nunez, why? Getting done with ball over the top constantly
-
They're really exposing Young, struggling to get up to the pace and postionally all over the place so think I'd put Cash on at half time.
-
McGinn’s doing well so far, two fabulous balls in.
-
Offside but Olsen beaten.
-
That was a let off.
-
INGS starts we are probably 3 1 up
-
Bit fortunate there and this high line is going to ruin us.
-
Ollie Watkins is playing the role beautifully of a player who will be out of the side in the next month or so. And when he asks the manager why there will be a full library justifying the decision.
-
This won't be finishing 0-1 that's for sure.
-
FFS offside it may be that that was pathetic defending.
-
Luiz clearly on the capirinhas till late last night, that's not the first time he's limply given the ball away.
-
Douglas Luis so lapse at times.
-
McGinn is having a good game.
-
You just know that 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' will score almost every other chance they get, but with Villa it's going to be one in ten.
-
You just know that 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' will score almost every other chance they get, but with Villa it's going to be one in ten.
That's the Watkins thing at work.
-
Fucking hell, offside but FFS what are the defence doing?
-
Olsen really is shit.
-
We are moving the ball too slowly, which also tells me we aren't moving quickly enough and offering the pass. Need to sharpen up. Come on Villa.
-
This team could do with a month on the training pitch with a top coach.
-
We are all over the shop at the back. Think we need a tactical change until half time, switch Bailey and Buendia out wide for a bit.
-
Fair play Olsen, did very well there.
-
LUIZ GIVING IT AWAY AGAIN!
-
Starfucking ref, as usual.
-
Fair play Olsen, did very well there.
The Argentina keeper arguably deprived France of their 3rd star with a similar save.
-
Fair play Olsen, did very well there.
The Argentina keeper arguably deprived France of their 3rd star with a similar save.
So I hear.
-
Luiz is having a nightmare.
-
And again Luiz. Constantly. He's fucking crap.
-
Luiz looks like dogshite.
-
Good clearing up Mings.
-
You'll Never Get a Pen.
Against this shower of shite in that position.
Home, away. Doesn't matter.
-
Deschamps would have subbed Luiz off by now.
-
Ball over the top every single time, it's fucking daft
-
Fuck off Luiz.
-
Dougie having a mare
Expect him to score fromma corner
-
I'd have Ings on because Watkins' famed work rate seems irrelevant so far.
-
'The Mighty Reds YNWA' constantly playing the ball in behind Digne, pulling Mings across to cover and creating space to attack.
-
Wank from Bailey. Jeez.
-
Fantastic from Mings, but offside anyway
-
Well played Mings.
-
Fair play Olsen, did very well there.
The Argentina keeper arguably deprived France of their 3rd star with a similar save.
FTFY
-
We're going to stop getting away with these very marginal offsides pretty soon.
-
Seems frantic. Trying to watch this whilst watching the 2 kids - neither of them are that interested.
There’s goals in this game - but Watkins is not a finisher at all.
-
Olsen makes a save!!
I repeat, Olsen makes a save!!
This is not a drill. He. Made. A. Save.
-
FUCKING HELL get a grip at the back!
-
0-2
-
Game over. Pathetic at the back.
-
Our defence is fucking terrible.
-
Bollocks
-
Absolute garbage, pathetic, gerrard-esque performance. Fucking shit, a month to work on this. Wtf
-
Another FFS.
Watkins off and Ings on.
-
Buendia marking Van Dyk at corners. Makes absolute sense to me, what, with them being a similar shape and size and both wonderful headers of the ball???????? Sack of shit.
-
Oh Piss off. It’s like we’re still on the beach.
-
This defense is horrible and Olsen is rubbish.
-
Got to be honest from what I’ve seen we’ve been shit.
-
Please buy better players next week, this is shameful.
-
If only Watkins could finish like that
-
Konsa is moving like a bloody statue.
-
That's enough for me. Back to the left-overs.
-
The defence look like they're scared by having Olsen behind them.
-
Never back us around Christmas, ever.
Nope!
-
This is going to be disastrous.
-
Being outclassed
Men against clueless boys
-
Our defence is fucking shit.
-
It's like a practice match for them.
-
We’ve actually looked ok too half but oh my God defensively we are shit
-
Could be a 3-4 job with that 'defence.'
-
Our defence is fucking shit.
Ouuur defence is fucking shit!
-
Cashing out at 0-3 and 0-4
Extremely easy mulah!
-
Horrible, but 2 chances to equalise spurned.
-
It's going to be one of those Boxing Day 6-0 thrashings unless we buck our ideas up.
-
Oh well. Time to go do something else.
Fuck you Villa.
-
Horrible, but 2 chances to equalise spurned.
Don't be like that Watkins is awesome.
-
The worst thing about the 2nd is that I reckon Nunez was offside in the buildup to the chance that led to the corner.
Buendia needed to be closer to VVD, far too much space for anyone at a corner.
Ref has started giving them everything.
-
Cheap goal to give away but Liverpool well on top anyway.
Thank god they have Nunez upfront instead of Mane these days, he's even more wasteful in final third than Ollie.
I'd like to see a bit more from Buendia. He seems to undercook passes on halfway line and then throw a massive strop, need something from him in final third. At least Bailey is trying to make things happen.
-
Fuck off ref.
-
The only difference between the teams is our defenders can't defend, our forwards can't finish and our midfield is completely over run and wasteful in possession. They defend high and rely on the pace of their full backs and Van Dijk to recover/read the situation we defend high and have two daydreamers in Konsa and Mings.
-
This is a disorganised comedy show at the moment. We look well short of aggressions, pace, width, movement and quality here.
-
This is being made much worse by the sound of Clive Tyldesley joyfully pulling one off over Liverpool for 45 minutes.
-
I never Slag off Luiz but he is playing like he’s had a month off.
-
Fuck off ref.
Has allways been a xxxx
-
Luiz needs taking off
-
This is being made much worse by the sound of Clive Tyldesley joyfully pulling one off over Liverpool for 45 minutes.
Has Istanbul been mentioned?
-
Good save Olsen
-
Olsen, another good save.
-
Still a work in progress.
Massive investment needed in January. Not sure who said our defence look scared with Olsen behind them, but it’s true.
Midfield totally overrun. Attackers can’t finish.
Team still on the beach. Emery has a big job to do, but I still think the future is bright.
-
On the evidence thus far, in January I'd be improving on Konsa, Mings, Olsen and Watkins with some fucking urgency.
The centre halves are a pair of fucking dreamers, a second behind everyone else.
-
Get Cam in.
-
....oh and why is 5'8 Buendia marking 6'6" Van Dijk at set pieces.
-
Young and Luiz really need to be subbed.
-
Shocking display! Young, McGinn awful. Wtf is young doing playing cb? Nobody is marking their attacking lb Robertson who is a Cnut anyway. I’ve only seen their 1st goal once and I’m sure they had a player coming back from an offside position. Wtf is Buendia marking van dick at corners?
We’re playing this game like we have to forfeit it having sacked the clueless scouse git.
-
The defence look like they're scared by having Olsen behind them.
Shouldn't be playing a high line with Olsen behind them. Tactically we have been owned first half.
-
Young had had his hand's full, McGinn started well but has been anonymous, Doug is mentally slower than those around him today, Bailey has been shite. Kamara had done okay and Olsen has made some good saves. Just underwhelming really.
-
Young and Luiz really need to be subbed.
Not a game for Young IMO.
Thought Ings should have started as they have a soft underbelly for first time in years
-
I can't wait for the day when we don't see sides effortlessly take the points from us at home.
-
Watkins and Konsa off at h/t, Ings and Chambers on
-
Also, fucking great example of why Watkins needs replacing.
-
Hasn't fallen for us up front.
They're just much more ruthless when it comes to taking chances/half chances.
-
Absolutely baffled by the defensive set up, can't understand it or why we're persisting with it. Not pressing them really at all and a line so high you'd thought we had the worlds fastest centre halves.
Young has been awful i hate to say, Dougie looks lost, front 2 fucking shit. Be concerned if he doesn't change it at halftime
-
Utter garbage...the tone was set early by Watkins. I would not be upset if he never played in a Villa shirt again.
The defence were very poor. The only person to come out of that with any credit is Kamara.
-
Without even playing well we’ve created three decent chances. Imagine if we actually played well?
I know they are good going forward but they are shit at the back.
-
Watkins and Konsa off at h/t, Ings and Chambers on
Not Chambers. He was shit in all the friendlies
-
If we continue like this it will be four or five, a simple ball over the top catches us out nearly every time.
-
This is being made much worse by the sound of Clive Tyldesley joyfully pulling one off over Liverpool for 45 minutes.
He's the Richard Madeley of football commentators. Never shuts up, spouts absolute bollocks.
-
That was fucking awful. Disorganised rabble. Several could be taken off here and we couldn't complain. We need a partners for Kamara, another centre back for when Carlos comes back, Emi back in goal, a centre forward who worries the opposition with his pace, energy and movement, rather than worrying the fans behind the goal because one of them is going to get smashed in the face by the ball. Young, Konsa, Luiz, Digne, Watkins just not good enough.
-
Without even playing well we’ve created three decent chances. Imagine if we actually played well?
I know they are good going forward but they are shit at the back.
Watkins is shit up front.
-
If emery didn't know already ,which I'm.suprised he don't . Watkins is not the answer , I'd have played Ings myself but we need a serious upgrade .
Olsen has been ok .
Konsa ,young and Dougie still on the turkey .
We have had two easy chances as well .
Mcginn been our best player
-
Well we are clearly able to cause them problems at the back but it makes no difference if we can’t fucking defend. I honestly though Emery would keep it tight but he’s done the exact opposite
-
We will never be anything more than a mid table side until we sign a goal scorer. I’m done with Watkins now. Go and sign a proper centre forward.
-
We've had chances but defensively we're all over the place. The keeper has saved a couple but is part of the problem, he's done more back pedalling than a Brexiteer. The players have no confidence in him but it's only part of the issue.
As for Tyldesley, I have rarely heard such bias but it's a timely reminder that he is a ******.
-
We where second best this half. Lpool really up from it from the start and overrun us , we didnt get going as a team. We are toothless up front with watkins cause he will never score from the chances. Not any individual players fault IMO; other team better as a whole this half. Interesting to see what emery will do now.
-
Surprised at the lack of criticism for Buendia.
We had a decent breakaway just before half time with him in yards of space. Could've just slid in Bailey or gone back post.
Instead he just hit it at the first defender, so infuriating and you can't really afford to waste counters v this type of opposition as you won't be getting too many more. Too often he's on the periphery of the game.
This reminds me of the first half at home to Man. City last season. We got an early goal back and could've got a draw in the end, will need to make some changes though for that to happen.
-
Gerrardesque shite.
Goalkeeper abysmal, Young and McGinn all over the place, Watkins like a fucking statue and most of the team unable to pass a football.
Terrible
-
Hasn't fallen for us up front.
They're just much more ruthless when it comes to taking chances/half chances.
Dunno about not falling for us, we've had four really good sights of goal.
-
Bit of a bizarre performance really. We've done OK going forward and have some created some good opportunities, but they look like they will create a goal scoring opportunity every time they go forward and if Nunes had been more clinical they could have had four or five.
Douglas Luiz has been really poor in midfield and looks way off the pace.
-
Olsen made a couple of decent saves but looks very nervy on the ball which in turn is impacting the defence. Luiz is an enigma, seems to fluctuate between brilliant and awful, today it’s the latter - I’d hook him for Dendonker and get some more physicality in the midfield. Need to tweak the shape - McGinn and Buendia are sitting inside to allow the fullbacks to get forward but it’s happened maybe once in the half.
-
Isn t there any VAR for this? Many of their chances seems to be involved with offsides even their first goal.
-
Defensively we look awful
We don’t look at the races - maybe the fact it’s there second game back
Way too wasteful with the ball - also seem so lightweight and easily brushed off
We need some investment
-

When we get Digne forward, there is a lack of movement and he doesn't move the ball quick enough either.
-
Buendia, Luiz and Watkins cannot complain if the hook comes out.
And for some of them, if they go out of the side, I wouldn't bank on them returning.
-

That is quite brutal, but it's hard to disagree.
Daydream believers.
-
For teams like Liverpool VAR is but a cursory glance.
-
The commentator over here, Seb Hutchinson (?) is having a Reds love-in. Ironically, it's ex-Liverpool player Jim Beglin, summarizing, that is bringing some balance.
-
Get Cashy, Dendonx and Ings on.
Score the next goal and we're back in it.
-
Not just today but over recent months, what has happened to the attacking left back formerly known as Digne? He rarely crosses the half way line and his main contribution is to pass the ball back to Mings.
As for today, Villa remind me of France against Argentina last week. We're chasing shadows. Problem is I can't see Liverpool taking their foot off the gas and we've nobody up front fit to lace Mbappe's boots nevermind change the game. What does Emery need to change at half time? Everything but obviously it's not going to happen.
-
Isn t there any VAR for this? Many of their chances seems to be involved with offsides even their first goal.
It’s just the final ball that counts as offside these days unfortunately
-
Found another stream to avoid Clive the ****** but copped for Beglin, then Owen at HT.
Sitting in silence awaiting the restart.
-
Watkins and Konsa off at h/t, Ings and Chambers on
Not Chambers. He was shit in all the friendlies
Oh dear that is depressing to hear. Although it does highlight an area which, perhaps most, urgently needs addressing...
-
For teams like Liverpool VAR is but a cursory glance.
VARs whole purpose is to give another edge to the Premier League media marketing favourite clubs.
-
what has happened to the attacking left back formerly known as Digne? He rarely crosses the half way line and his main contribution is to pass the ball back to Mings.
Noticed that too on several occasions, he wouldn't dribble into the large space in front of him, preferring to lump it forward aimlessly or give it to Mings so he could lump it just the same.
-
This isn’t over yet. Get one back early we get three!
-
Yet again, Watkins goes too early. FFS.
-
I’m sick to my fucking back teeth of him.
-
dumbass.
-

He does get forward, players don't pass to him quickly enough when he's in space so then he gets crowded out as we saw when he went down cheaply in the box.
-
Ollie Watkins you have *no* football brain...
-
McGinn, what an absolutely terrible waste.
-
Finishing well but sort your timing out
-
Yet again, Watkins goes too early. FFS.
At least he buried it :)
-
Decent start to second half from us.
Feels though when quick combination of passing and Liverpool will just carve us open but us scoring would make things in the balance again.
-
It's a good game for neutrals, but not if you're a Villa fan, just glad we're only 2 down.
-
You can see why Liverpool have coughed up so many chances this season and generally underperformed.
But doesn't really matter with our cutting edge.
-
WTF Amazon!
-
Anyone got Amazon Prime going nuts ATM?
-
Yeah mine is... wtf!
-
Amazon Prime has gone AOL!
-
WTF Amazon!
All fine in North Yorkshire
-
McGinn, what an absolutely terrible waste.
Unbelievable. He beautifully set up the move, kept on running, came in on the blind side and completely fluffed his lines.
-
Bailey looks a bit rusty.
-
Amazon trotting out the Gerrard was unlucky line again....
-
My stream is a nightmare. Are we playing any better this half?
-
Bailey back to doing nothing
-
SCORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
get in
-
Bailey looks a bit rusty.
Another scuff...😔
-
OLLIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
-
Bailey playing like me after 6 pints of Stella.
-
Gooooooooooooooooolol!
-
At last!!!!
OLLIEEEE!!!!
-
Superb Ollie
-
Nice goal. If we can stop being wasteful, we might get something here.
-
Was just about to say that Bailey needs to go onto a premature ejaculators course as he keeps on firing too early.
Then Watkins does a great header, we’re back in it!
-
Good cross and good head
-
Great delivery, great finish.
-
Dougie assist
Great header
-
Nice goal. If we can stop being wasteful, we might get something here.
This.
-
a real top striker finish from watkins !!!! never in doubt
-
Needed that.
Come on!
-
Digne got caught dwelling on it at the edge of our4 box but how was it not a foul on him by Salah, had about 3 kickcs at the back of his legs.
-
Sounds like the fans have finally woken up.
-
I object to my Amazon Prime £s going towards Tyldesley's wages
-
If nothing else we knew Emery can get at them in half time and get a Reaction.
-
This is better.
I really like Kamara, a real class player.
-
Why does the lino keep his flag down when Liverpool are offside but flag when it's one of our players?
-
Kamara has been brilliant this half, he's directly responsible for the 2 subs being made here because he's totally dominated the midfield.
-
We've actually been great. Carved them open 5-6 times this half alone. However this ends I'm very impressed.
This has been McGinn's best game for us in about... what, 2 years? Playing him off the right looks like an inspired decision.
Kamara is world class.
-
Much improved. Just need the 2nd goal in the next 10 mins and I’d fancy us to win this
-
Youngs fault delaying that
And why mcginn not hit that chance first time
We could easily be winning this
-
Fair play Emery, same 11 but look like a different team this half
-
Make a change Unai, game’s gone flat.
-
Just remembered you can switch off commentary in prime so stuff you Tyldesley.
-
How was it not a foul on Watkins when Matip went straight through the back of him?
-
Make a change for fuck’s sake.
-
Make subs now please. Get Buendia off. Passenger.
-
How was it not a foul on Watkins when Matip went straight through the back of him?
he plays for Liverpool
-
Get buendia off
Twice he's made the wrong choice
Nearly got done then cause of him.
-
Buendia needs to be subbed, done bugger all except give the ball away.
-
Kamara is absolute quality. Never rushed. Terrific player. If we can find a good partner for him.
-
It hasn't been a bad performance on the whole, good things and bad things, but enough of the good to be positive so far.
-
Imagine spending 80m on Nunez.
-
Buendia has been little more than nuisance value this game.
Shirley time for Coutinho to have a few minutes.
-
Been a good second half performance, we've been so anxious in the final third. I think buendia has been awful
-
Kamara is absolute quality. Never rushed. Terrific player. If we can find a good partner for him.
I know you've not been happy with him today but I think Luiz works really well alongside Kamara.
-
Find it puzzling that there have been no subs yet...
-
It hasn't been a bad performance on the whole, good things and bad things, but enough of the good to be positive so far.
Been a weird one as we've gone from the ridiculous to the sublime at times.
-
Buendia playing unrealistic passes in the final third
-
Some surprising changes for Liverpool, ending match with a very youthful team.
Not sure where ours are. Surely with all these crosses Ings should be buzzing around the box?
-
Kamara is absolute quality. Never rushed. Terrific player. If we can find a good partner for him.
I think him and Luiz have been really good. His ability to break up play frees up Luiz to put in deliveries like he did for the goal. Really good midfield in the making IMO.
-
Make a fucking sub!
-
Kamara is absolute quality. Never rushed. Terrific player. If we can find a good partner for him.
I know you've not been happy with him today but I think Luiz works really well alongside Kamara.
I think he's too inconsistent for where we want to go paul.
-
Oh well
-
Bugger. Strange game.
-
Game over.
Nunez did well in fairness to keep that in.
-
All undone with piss poor defending yet again.
-
Mings fuck up
-
Mings with a nutmeg assist
-
Make it easier for them, Jesus Christ.
New CBs next week.
-
How many times does that happen to us?
-
Fucking mings you fucking wanker. Fucking clear it, trying to be fucking clever. Fuck off, defense absolutely shit today
-
Townsend loves Nunes.
-
Olsen keeping up his remarkable record of conceding at least 3 in every appearance for us.
-
Mings could've just kicked that away if he just stood up.
Frustrating to concede that.
-
Mings has to go. That was terrible not once but twice.
-
Konsa is shit, what has happened to him
-
Mings, Konsa and Olsen, all fucking wank.
-
I should add i'm not blaming him, but it's a bizarre record.
-
Not sure what Olsen was doing there or Konsa giving up on the chase.
-
We’re just not talented enough. Too many liabilities
-
Konsa is shit, what has happened to him
He’s slower than continental drift.
-
Mings and Konsa = just not good enough.
Mings is a good guy, and a leader, but he's just not good enough.
-
Ball over the top = all over the shop.
Same as it ever was.
-
We've missed Martinez tonight.
-
Subs are too late mate
-
Tried to wake up at 2:30 for this but couldn't.
Finally got up and disappointed to see we're losing, but happy we're doing ok. Also happy that the commentator is correctly addressing Alexander Arnold by his surname.
We look dodgy at the back to me. Same old culprits, also.
-
Konsa done for pace AGAIN.
-
Whilst the second half has seen something of an improvement, we have also been atrocious in the second half too. I hope Emery is angry. Several players have shown how poor they are today.
-
Bit late with these subs...should've been on 10 minutes ago.
-
How has he waited until 85 mins to make a sub? Fucking amateur.
-
Konsa has been fucking woeful.
-
Klopp showboating by bringing on a junior school kid.
-
Subs way too late...this has been tactically poor from UE
-
Left buendia on too long
You put your chances in and you don't lose this .
Shows there is a few that just are not good enough
-
Why has the manager not used any subs?
This is Smith levels of game management.
Incompetent
-
Subs way too late...this has been tactically poor from UE
Agreed, really poor.
-
One day there will be a Villa manager who makes substitutions at half time.

Olsen keeping up his remarkable record of conceding at least 3 in every appearance for us.
TBF he made two or three good one-on-one saves.
Couldn't do much about their first
-
How has he waited until 85 mins to make a sub? Fucking amateur.
Yep, just thinking that.
-
Nothing personal, but Olsen needs to go in January. Worst keeper I’ve ever seen in a Villa shirt. I feel sorry for him, he’s SO far below the standard required.
-
Ffs Townsend, go and meet Nunez in the shower
-
You can talk bollockls about tactics, but if you miss the absolute sitters we have issue tonight you don' have a fucking chance against a good side. Buy a centre forward.
-
At least we know we'll be getting a new keeper and striker in January.
-
Just discovered Tydlesley can be turned off.
-
Our players just aren't very good are they. We really miss JJ's drive
-
Liverpool sharper faster and more athletic than us . but fuck me the wankathon on Amazon for them is ridiculous. fuck me when does clive tylsley retire
-
One day there will be a Villa manager who makes substitutions at half time.
Don't think that's the issue as we had a really good spell and scored in the first 15 minutes. That continued so surely with the pressure afterwards it would've made sense to put on Ings and Coutinho.
1-3 and it's game over and all very pointless.
-

The first goal was outstanding from Liverpool BUT the collision and corner just wouldn’t have happened if Emi had been in goal. He dithers about his positioning constantly.
-
I hate these ******. The first thing I saw when I turned on was Fabinho foul Kamara and amazingly escape a booking.
The amount of excuses being made for that Nunez by tosspot Beglin...deary me.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to having Emi back and not having to see players like Mings and Konsa in the not too distant future. Neither are good enough.
-
I guess Emery didn't want to make changes because we were looking likely to get an equaliser and he didn't want to lose the momentum. Can't fault him too much as at least he was able to make positive tactical changes in the second half.
-
Since Bailey and Buendia went off we've been shit
-
Ref ain't gave us much
-
New players please
-
I love them
singing about Gerard let’s hope he rocks up there one day
-
That was a tough watch.
-
Nunez man of the match - dear me.
-
We need to take our chances
You can’t blame Mings all the time, consider his interventions before you criticise him not hoofing it clear when you usually give him stick for lumping it ..lot of good, let’s get behind them
-
Klopp showboating by bringing on a junior school kid.
Yes, he took the foot of the pedal when they destroyed us at VP when Remi was in charge.
After the 7-2, all conventions are revoked, and we must take the shaft.
-
Poor on too many levels
Defensively all over the place.
Giving the ball away.
Dreadful finishing.
Poor management.
Not great.
-
If you like Tydesley’s bad try watching with Jim Beglin on commentary. So one eyed it’s incredible he gets the gig. Bang average footballer too.
-
Nunez man of the match - dear me.
Is Beglin on the wind up.
Salah was world class today, his touch, vision and composure is lightyears ahead of what Nunez is capable of.
-
That was townsend!
-
Commentary from Clive Tyldesley on Amazon Prim: If Pool's teenage sub scores he'll be their youngest ever league goalscorer.
They really only care about the "Big 6".
-
The bias was breathtaking. Owen was asked at HT if Villa could come back and said "I hope not" The little fucking weasel.
-

Not great.
I thought the defence was fine….until called upon to do some defending 🤨
-
If their bench is weak then ours might as well be filled with holograms
-
If the owners have ambitions for Villa to get towards European places then there is an awful lot of work to be done.
Too many soft players, too many with a soft under belly, too many go hiding, too many making too many basic mistakes.
In January as a matter of priority at least one central defender is needed, (assuming Diego Carlos will be back at some point) a striker is needed that can finish.
-
Just discovered Tydlesley can be turned off.
You only just discovered the mute button Paulie? 😉
-
I'd be selling Mings in the summer.
-
Think I watched a different game. Liverpool were back to their offensive best but we more than matched them for 90 minutes and created the better chances. Draw fair result imo and I’m usually very negative.
-
I think we did ok in periods - they took there chances we didn’t - they could keep the ball we couldn’t
Not awful - we just need an upgrade in pretty much every area of the park and more atletism
-
I'd be selling Mings in the summer.
Me, too. Would like to see him alongside Carlos for a spell first, however.
