If we continue like this it will be four or five, a simple ball over the top catches us out nearly every time.

This is being made much worse by the sound of Clive Tyldesley joyfully pulling one off over Liverpool for 45 minutes.
He's the Richard Madeley of football commentators. Never shuts up, spouts absolute bollocks.

That was fucking awful. Disorganised rabble.  Several could be taken off here and we couldn't complain.  We need a partners for Kamara, another centre back for when Carlos comes back, Emi back in goal, a centre forward who worries the opposition with his pace, energy and movement, rather than worrying the fans behind the goal because one of them is going to get smashed in the face by the ball.  Young, Konsa, Luiz, Digne, Watkins just not good enough.

Without even playing well we’ve created three decent chances. Imagine if we actually played well?

I know they are good going forward but they are shit at the back.

Watkins is shit up front.

If emery didn't know already ,which I'm.suprised he don't . Watkins is not the answer , I'd have played Ings myself but we need a serious upgrade .

Olsen has been ok .

Konsa ,young and Dougie still on the turkey .

We have had two easy chances as well .

Mcginn been our best player

Well we are clearly able to cause them problems at the back but it makes no difference if we can’t fucking defend.  I honestly though Emery would keep it tight but he’s done the exact opposite

We will never be anything more than a mid table side until we sign a goal scorer.  I’m done with Watkins now.  Go and sign a proper centre forward.

We've had chances but defensively we're all over the place. The keeper has saved a couple but is part of the problem, he's done more back pedalling than a Brexiteer. The players have no confidence in him but it's only part of the issue.
As for Tyldesley, I have rarely heard such bias but it's a timely reminder that he is a ******.

We where second best this half. Lpool really up from it from the start and overrun us , we didnt get going as a team. We are toothless up front with watkins cause he will never score from the chances. Not any individual players fault IMO; other team better as a whole this half. Interesting to see what emery will do now.

Surprised at the lack of criticism for Buendia.

We had a decent breakaway just before half time with him in yards of space. Could've just slid in Bailey or gone back post.

Instead he just hit it at the first defender, so infuriating and you can't really afford to waste counters v this type of opposition as you won't be getting too many more. Too often he's on the periphery of the game.

This reminds me of the first half at home to Man. City last season. We got an early goal back and could've got a draw in the end, will need to make some changes though for that to happen.

Gerrardesque shite.

Goalkeeper abysmal, Young and McGinn all over the place, Watkins like a fucking statue and most of the team unable to pass a football.

Terrible

Hasn't fallen for us up front.

They're just much more ruthless when it comes to taking chances/half chances.

Dunno about not falling for us, we've had four really good sights of goal.

Bit of a bizarre performance really.  We've done OK going forward and have some created some good opportunities, but they look like they will create a goal scoring opportunity every time they go forward and if Nunes had been more clinical they could have had four or five.

Douglas Luiz has been really poor in midfield and looks way off the pace.

Olsen made a couple of decent saves but looks very nervy on the ball which in turn is impacting the defence. Luiz is an enigma, seems to fluctuate between brilliant and awful, today it’s the latter - I’d hook him for Dendonker and get some more physicality in the midfield. Need to tweak the shape - McGinn and Buendia are sitting inside to allow the fullbacks to get forward but it’s happened maybe once in the half.
