Title: Fixture list announced
Post by: Andy_Lochhead_in_the_air on June 07, 2019, 07:07:44 AM
With the 2018/19 Premier League campaign now completed, fans should make a note in their diaries for 09:00 BST on Thursday 13 June.
That is when the fixtures for the 2019/20 season will be released.
The dates for all 380 Premier League matches will be published on premierleague.com from 09:00 BST, allowing supporters to start making plans.
The 2019/20 season will begin on 10 August 2019, with three new teams in the competition, and conclude on 17 May 2020.

Due to the TV influence the fixtures are always "gerrymandered" towards the favoured teams so there will be no "big clashes" on the first or last day so we are up as fodder for one of the better teams, I've noticed this many times, promoted sides often get tough away starts.

Chelsea A

Not quite correct, how many of those 380 games get subsequently moved?

Someone at home please as I'm away for the 2nd weekend!  ;)

A home Boxing Day game against someone decent would be nice too.

And I imagine they'll fix it so we're playing Man City on the last day, all so that Sky can bill it as the title-decider!!!!

I'd like to play Utd at home. They're fair game right now, but given our largely fuck awful record against them for decades, I'd love nothing more than to do an opening day repeat of 95. And no they won't go onto win the title, and we probably won't finish 4th, but I feel like pillocking Utd would bring a great deal of satisfaction. The earlier the better.

If it is indeed Leicester though. I think that's a decent first home game too. They're going to be a direct rival I think (hope) in the middle section of the Prem.

Actually we usually tend to get Liverpool at home early on don't we if you look back to previous years.

Would be a good time to play them as just seen Mane and Salah are playing in African cup of nations and Firmino is in Copa so all three will be playing well into July so would imagine they'll get extended holiday and won't feature first few weeks.

Look on the bright side Fred, if it's as difficult as you think the worst that can happen will be we'll end up back there, and you can enjoy it again.

First five home games are Bournemouth, Everton, West Ham, Burnley and Brighton.  I reckon we need to pick up a fair few points from those and we'll be ok.

We've been here before for generations on end. We need to improve the quality of the squad and it's going to be hard work, but I have more confidence in us off the pitch to get it right recruitment wise, than I have had in a while.

Think it's a great start. A big game to start with is what I wanted, come back right in to it, possibly at the best club stadium in the country too.

First three home games are a decent opportunity to get some points on the board.

Only disappointment is that I only manage to do 1 or 2 aways a season, so I've got no chance of seeing the new Spurs or West Ham stadium as they're first and last. Was hoping one of those would be early December when tickets are a bit easier to come by.

Yes they are introducing a 2 week winter break for the clubs, half will be from 1st to 15th Feb and other will be from 8th to 22nd Feb, which is why the 5th round of the cup, will be moved to March, with no replays.

Although I did enjoy the championship for a multitude of reasons it does make good reading to see our games now in the Premiership - it highlights how we used to take for granted being in there.

Also on Talkshite (although could be renamed Man U FM lately) they were advertising the fact that they have license to live games coming up in the new season and accompanied it with excerpts of matches when goals were scored
"Aguero"
"Rashford"
"Salah"
Grealish"

I had a warm glowing smile on my face ;)

I bet we are pissing the likes of Norwich and Sheffield United off already as they are not even mentioned in anything

Stay out of town on 14 December.  Plenty of PDA all over the place, kissing, holding hands, singing SOTV etc

It sounds like West Midlands Police have agreed to the German market, Gay Pride and the Small Heath v Smethwick game to all go ahead on the same day.

I see we go to Spurs for our first game and Small Heath go to Brentford. That's the Championship for you.

I bet there will be more people at either the Markets or Gay pride than at the temple of doom in the Villa hating derby

I doubt they have ever sold out either games to be honest

I think it's a public display of affection. Maybe.

Indeed. Not to be confused with the PDSA, Peoples dispensary for sick animals. And definately not to be confused with the PDASA, public displays of affection for sick animals, which in extreme cases can end up in a custodial sentence for beastiality.

I assumed it was Pharmacists' Defence Association as they're based in Brum.

Approximately 5th July for the September/October fixtures then roughly two-three months in advance for the rest of the season or one month in advance for the May games.

Man United away is bound to be moved as they have a Europa League game the Thursday before. Wolves away will be moved, too, if they make the Group Stage.
