We are just not good enough mentally at the moment to be resting some of our first team players. We need to be playing our best eleven for every game, and give every opponent the respect they deserve. We go a goal up and think we are billy big balls and  we have the game in the bag. We have a long way to go with this squad of players, they seem to let us down just as we think we've turned a corner. Anyway, thats done and dusted. A shitshow. Bring on Citeh.

I fail to see that Sancho is given “a good game”. Every time he went inside the man towards other defenders and never ever pulled the defence apart. Not once did he go outside the defence to pull them apart, all he did was make more people in the middle rather than causing problems amongst the defence.

Sancho set the goal up by going on the outside didn’t he? As is the fashion now he plays on the wrong side so invariably goes inside onto his stronger foot. Some of it is, likely, through instruction as Cash does by passing back/ inside.

That's a correct assessment I would say

I honestly don't remember a game where our movement in the box, to attack crosses was as bad.  That said, our crossing was also really poor.

I actually think this result is worse than the brugge one in group phase last season. This team looked alot worse.

I know unai doesn't  want to destroy them publicly  which is probably  the best interests of all. But i bet behind the scenes he is absolutely  livid with that shite tonight.

Right - I wouldn't bother moving for those crosses as none of them were making it anywhere near when they should have.  The one or two flukes that did - you are right, nobody on the end of them.  I remember one where Ollie could have stuck something out surely to get a touch but didn't bother and then same with Pau in the second half, I'll excuse him a little as he's a defender.

I agree.  Sometimes, hard work can turn a poor ball into a better ball and tonight, we looked unbothered.  We really miss a ruthless striker.  Ollie has been great but seems to be on the downturn. Malen was invisible, atrocious.

Thankfully we don't need the £389,000 you get per win as our finances are so solid.
Easily recoup that if we reach the knockout stage by putting up the price of tickets by £10 each!

We are so going to need to sign a centre forward in January. It's all very well signing flexible forwards, but it simply means they aren't good enough to lead the line.

That said, perspective - result tonight won't matter a jot in terms of qualification in the end other than the fact we'll have to put a strong team out in the next few games rather than a scratch team.

Should have crushed it 3 or 4 as they were utter wank.

They were so up for it that it was hilarious. Silly ****** po going about and only avoiding a right cross to be clobbered by the Dutch plod.

It just gives us less room rotation and bad results, when there was really no need and we should be on 9 points….

I only saw the second half so can only comment on that. I haven’t even seen our goal yet. In all that time of 48 minutes I don’t think there keeper made on e save. Shite.

We were flat, lacking in energy and intensity. Maatsen and Sancho showed intent on the left but ran into bodies and didn’t offload quickly enough. On the right I can’t really blame Lindelof for not overlapping and causing danger as he’s a pedestrian centre half. Maatsen seemed to be checking his instagram posts for their second- completely asleep.

Nobody played well, though the subs made us better. From what I saw Bogarde was probably the least poor player out there.

FFS practice penalties. The goal doesn’t move and you’re professional footballers.

Emery needs to look at himself after that. No plan B, just throw on the subs and hope for the best.
