Shame to the club is a bit much. It was a rubbish performance and result, but that’s the extent of it.

We also missed 2 out of 4 pens in the Brentford cup game.

And the two that scored have both missed since.

Of our current employees:

Buendia, Watkins, Cash, McGinn and Tielemans all missed their last Villa penalty.

Konsa and... that's it... scored their last Villa penalty.

Yeah and they’ve all been bad pens from memory too.

Sancho did fine, I don’t know what anybody else saw but he looked the most likely to break the lines.  Our problem was that we weren’t clinical enough and conceded from straight lobs into our box.

I thought he was one of our better players too.

Same, tried to be positive and take his man on and make something happen.
Yes, no idea why he was subbed but Guessand stayed on.

Ridiculous decision.

I fail to see that Sancho is given “a good game”. Every time he went inside the man towards other defenders and never ever pulled the defence apart. Not once did he go outside the defence to pull them apart, all he did was make more people in the middle rather than causing problems amongst the defence.

We can agree to disagree, but i think they have bought us complete embarrassment  tonight. They are one of the worst teams in the competition, midtable in the dutch league (they are probably league one standard ) and to top it off they had two players  go off injured!

I just cannot believe we lost it.  Unbelievable

The game should have been over after 20mins. Dreadful result. Unai said anything yet?

Emery said: “We enjoyed a lot in Europe and we’ve had a lot of experiences in Europe – Conference League, Champions League and this year the Europa League.

“We’ve started the season very good in the Europa League and Europe helped us to get better and feel more comfortable in this competition.

“Today was a match we were dominating, we were creating chances, and we scored the first goal. We conceded a few chances to them and they were clinical.

“They competed very well, defending fantastic. We tried with the penalty we had, but we missed it, and we have to accept it.

“We have to tell our supporters who are here with us how grateful we are that they are supporting us and coming with us to play here away.

“Away is an experience I’ve always felt is difficult, like today. I’m positive, but today I’m feeling disappointed and a little frustrated

That was a shocking result against a team who are mid-table Championship level at best.  Two really poor goals conceded.

I also thought Sancho did alright, although it shows the weakness of playing with inverted wingers, he beat his full back regularly but he just didn't seem confident picking anyone out with his left peg. Given how little he's played, I thought it was a promising go and he certainly did better than Guessand.

I he is underestimating How important silverware is. I think fans would be able to accept a mid table leaguefinish if we win silverware and champions league qualification in Europe.

However, , withhis team selections and strategies, we are likely to finish mid table in the leagueand go out early in the Europa, basically achieving neither objective. Silly.

0-10 for Emery. Our best 11 would have won that comfortably, and I hate seeing weak teams picked in cup matches.

Starting to wish we had taken the money for Watkins last January as we would struggle to get £20m for him at the end of the season.

How bad must Elliot be in training not to get a match here?

Not going to have a go at Buendia - he shouldn't have been taking the pen in first place. It is worrying none of our forwards wanted to take it though.

My office in the Netherlands is 15 minutes from Deventer, I am going to get a lot of stick about this all week. Not happy.
