I doubt it had much of an impact on the performance, but I did think it was weird to have it before the last game.

We did last season, and because we had got CL, they allowed them to drink. Don't think there was many complaints then.

Because it was mission accomplished before the last game

Which they wouldn't have known when the date set.

They were still half-cut last year by the time they rolled into Selhurst Park a few days after the awards. Fair enough, a fit and sober Villa side will never win at Palace anyway.

But they didn't allow them to drink at this one because the next match was important. Not that it showed on the day. So last year it was ok to have it the week before the end of the season but this year it wasn't seems to be the feel of certain more club critical supporters.

Any one think this should have been after the last game of the season?
Just out of interest, why?
Because we had an important game left and all of their attention should have been on that.
In the words of the famous song,
There will be time enough for counting when the dealings done.

Because last year it didn’t matter.
This year it did and we saw what happened.

Why wasn't this a concern a week ago, on the day of the awards? We didn't lose because of an awards ceremony, we lost because we didn't play very well.

These thoroughly correct and reasonable comments won’t wash on here Clampy :-)

Some of the scrabbling around to moan and find reasons is bizarre…we played badly, opponent who had nothing to play for played better…it’s kinda what happens in a game with two teams sometimes

And neither last year or this year did we know the awards were happening at a time when the last match mattered or not. This is just moaning at the club for the sake of moaning at the club and not a peep would have happened if we had won on Sunday because an awards night has nothing to do with it.

I feel sorry for Emery, missing out on Birmingham's greatest culinary experience.

If only Big Wok was still going.
