Could anybody kindly help me please?

I’m working abroad on Sunday so have put up my seat for resale.

It’s the first time I’ve done this.

It says resale requested but nothing else has happened. Is there any chance it will sell yet or is unlikely because early Sunday kick off etc?

Is there anything I should check?

Sounds like you've done everything you can. It might not sell, regardless.

I put my Palace ticket up for resale two weeks before the game but the club only made it available a few days beforehand. They were too interested in selling GA+ instead.

Ultimately it didn't resell.

Thanks Chris!
Ive put a ticket up for sale I think two or three times last season and this. One big midweek game last season, Liverpool I think, some young lad just turned up in my daughters seat and some money dropped in my account a day or so later, the club didnt forewarn me. My son couldnt go to the Palace game this year but his seat didnt sell and again they didnt tell me.
I think they only put the resale tickets up for sale when everything else is sold out.

Is it possible, ever, to buy a match ticket if you're not a member?

Stupid question, I know, but it looks like it's not. Unless I am missing something.

EDIT should say, I am talking about the MTA game, for which there seem to be loads of tickets available, but for which they seem reluctant to sell to anyone without a membership.

Do you mean a membership or just a fan ID?
You can't buy without a fan ID but you should be able to buy without a membership once it goes to general sale, which I think this one will if it hasn't already.

Seems to be members only for this match according to the description:

Quote
General Admission On Sale Dates:
Season Ticket Holders - Online and Over the Phone from 5 September 3:00pm
Adult and Junior Members - Online and Over the Phone from 9 September 9:30am - If you're not already a member and want to buy in this sales window, CLICK HERE to purchase an AVFC Membership

But when I (I am a member) try to buy two tickets, it tells me:

Quote
The quantity of tickets owned by Walnuts, Paulie exceeds limitations.
To resolve, click "Assign Owners" and assign some of the tickets to other owners.
Too many tickets per event Aston Villa v Maccabi Tel-Aviv 06/11/2025 20:00: Please reduce the quantity to 1 or less.
Sales to this event are limited  to 1 tickets per event per history per item owner.

Which suggests you just need a booking history. Which my brother doesn't have, and he's not a member either, so no tickets for us.

It's not the end of the world, I'll watch on the telly, but really, we do seem to make it hard to buy tickets. Even for league matches, I hardly bother trying these days because there will be plenty of individual tickets available dotted around, but just buying two tickets together is a ball ache.

I'm genuinely more likely to buy a season ticket in a bigger ground than I am a few one-off tickets because of stuff like this.

There should loads made available in the Witton Lane stand in the near future.

With away fans banned and now not coming you can understand why they want a booking history. They did the same against Celtic and usually do this against Manchester United and Liverpool.

If you want to go ring the ticket office and ask them to create a fan ID for your brother. I’ve done this for my dad in the past and he isn’t a member.

When you get to the assigned owners bit you change your fan ref for his.

No big game goes to general sale, they always require booking history and have done for yonks. It will most likely be the same for Man City while Bournemouth will hit general sale assuming it doesn't sell out first. Young Boys will be the same as Bournemouth.

The last two years I have put my Citeh tickets up for resale and they haven't been sold, so I wish they would go to general sale!
