I only just realised we are playing Marseille and Sevilla on back to back days.  Why on earth would we schedule like that?

Small correction, we play Villarreal on Sunday.

Makes even less sense when you factor in the travelling involved, on top of that we've already just done in the US, and Germany, anywhere else?

Liverpool arranged 2 home games back-to-back against Club Athletic. You have 2 squads and give both extended run outs instead of changing most of the team at half time.

home games makes more sense. Unnecessary travel seems a bit silly.

Why silly? We have a week before the next games and playing just after flying to somewhere in Europe is going to be experience we need going forward across alot of players including the kids. So get the experience going. Arse played a penalty shootout in front of a large crowd in the friendly last week to give certain players that experience.

Tonight will be a tough test - they finished 2nd in their league to Paris

Talking to the taxi driver on the way from Marseille airport - they hate Paris with a real passion - stadium looks very good

I probably would have done a home game, but it’s a week out and it’s only France, so I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Almost palindromic

Villareal v Real Villa

Very strong Marseille team, would be a shame if Greenwood gets injured.
