Any road, exceptional first half at both ends, second was a little dull with Konsa and Onana both looking comfortable on the ball and Jimoh looking sharp in patches.

Glad Malen got a goal as I felt a bit sorry for him challenging for all those long balls with little to show for it.

Was it Bizot in goal?  the stadium announcer said it was Gauci, and he didn't look too clever with the ball at his feet.
Bizot looked a bit Olsen at times with ball on deck, but better .

The official graphic on the previous page said Bizot was in goal 2nd half but it looked like Gauci to me. I was led to believe Bizot was decent with his feet, and he looked so warming up at half time but whoever played second half didn’t seem that confident.

Ah ok. Well, on this evenings showing he needs some work on that side of his game.

I see our old mate Wesley came on as a sub for Roma.

Different one. He's a young defender.

Liked how we mixed it up last night, some playing out from the back, but then a few quick long range balls from Emi & Bizot too.

Ollie one on one seems to smash whoever is defending him, so not a bad tactic to use, and Mancini and Hermoso are good quality defenders too, so not an easy task.

Still think we need a CB, RB and another winger as Bailey just looks a bit lost to me

Serves me right for trying to read Corriere dello Sport with very limited Italian!

He is playing for a club in China now. Hat trick on his debut. 5 goals in 3 games.

I'm genuinely pleased to hear that. Hope he's making a decent living.

Ed: he's down in Shenzhen, so I'm sure he's having a proper grand old time.

I don't take too much notice with freindly results and performances, especially the early games because its all about getting fit but some of the football last night, in the first half especially was very pleasing to watch.

He is definitely finding a level where he can score. Before then he was in the Turkish second level and scored 21 in 34 whilst also managing a straight red and a yellow card accumalative ban.

That was excellent for me (particularly 1st half) - very enjoyable evening (excluding getting off the retail park afterwards lol) thing that struck me most was the long balls from Emi towards Ollie…it was quickly identified that the centre half had concrete boots on and if Emi could get it long and it bounced Ollie was likely to win it….that seemed to be identified and actioned in play.

Jimoh-Aloba and Hemmings were good when they came on

Buendia, lovely free kick, was a nuisance around the ball but his final ball is still a bit disappointing, hopefully he was charging around because there was a scout in the stands somewhere

For Roma I thought #17 Manu Kone looked a very assured player
