Really good performance that, Bizot is a huge upgrade on Olsen.

Didn’t see rogers go off. Did it look bad?

Something different about Ollie this preseason though.

Can't ever remember him being so commanding/prolific in the air... If he keeps that up, I can see him being the first Villa striker in a long time to break that 20 goal mark.

It didnt as I saw it, he walked off himself with not much distress. Twist and sore ankle was my guess

We didn’t have the zip of the first half but showed good positioning and awareness. Malen isn’t a direct replacement for Ollie but he showed what he can do given a chance. Onana looked very strong and commanding. A good workout.

It looked nothing. Must have fell on it awkwardly.

Yep, scored some good headers in preseason although a couple might have been saved with better keepers.

I guess the back 4 in the second is what will start with Bizot vs newcastle.

Is I-J wearing no. 98 the highest numbered player to turn out for the first team?

Only a friendly of course so not reading much into it but very clear the quadruple is on.

Going off the previous reports that many of these players won’t be anywhere near the first team when we get going, I thought Bailey and Buendia starting the game and playing well was a good idea. The value of both was clear to see for any interested parties. It would also be good for Illing Junior to go out on loan again. Ramsey was also good. All of the players who are allegedly available did themselves no harm at all. It was a good performance from all involved.

Surprised no footballer has had the gall to request a three-digit number yet.

Was it Bizot in goal?  the stadium announcer said it was Gauci, and he didn't look too clever with the ball at his feet.
