Our younger players are not used to being man-handled, just used to playing it about. Now they are up against opponents who use there weight to push people off,  block their runs etc. they have difficulties.
Good experience for them.

Good goal. Men against boys now. Quite literally.

I’m not convinced the ref is a professional. Must be one of their Dads.

Not really a lot to learn from this game other than that most of the kids ain't ready yet. Hemmings looks like a real player.

This is Hansa Rostock's fifth pre-season game.

They're fitter and much more together as a team than we've been.

We only had 4/5 proper first teamers in the squad and we're finishing the game with a joint U18/U21 eleven, so we shouldn't be too disappointed with how things have gone.

There’s nothing to be concerned about. It’s a load of our kids trying to make a case for themselves. Not many have stood out. Good minutes for the seniors in the first half.

If Unai had even a slight hope that some of the kids will be alright,  instead of getting other players in, he’ll likely be calling Monchi immediately after the game now. Good experience for them though.

Not much to learn from it overall. I don’t understand why they don’t just play these games behind closed doors.

I’m a little concerned at how poor our kids are. I know it’s all meaningless but I wont be watching anymore of these half arsed performances as they wind me up too much.

That’s fine but when are our first XI going to be at their 4/5 pre season game? So far in two games we have played mostly junior players. What’s the point?

They’re good for kids. They’ve proven that against other kids. Just not ready for the first team yet. But yeah, if you get wound up by these types of games, giving them a miss is probably a good idea.
