Blues are beating Sevilla 3-1 we are losing to Warsaw

The commerative mugs are being made as we speak.

Yes, and they’ll probably be replete with spelling mistakes as well.

Back in the US...The game was a bit disappointing, though not wholly unexpected. I thought we'd have a bit more about us even with the youngsters playing though we resorted to the excessively slow build-up from the back without ever really penetrating the Walsall defence. We looked most dangerous with a fast counter, but they were few and far between. My poor daughter has now watched Villa in person three times and we have lost all three - she's starting to develop a complex.

Third division side Hansa Rostock will play a friendly against English first division side Aston Villa on Saturday (19 July). Ex-professional Stefan Beinlich played for both clubs.

We'll have played pretty much a quarter of a season over this pre-season.

Is is a 4-2-1-3?

        Bizot
Garcia Mings Torres Moreno
    Bogarde Bouba
Burrowes Jimoh-Aloba JJ

The bench looks equally strange

GK Marschall
GK Proctor
FB Rowe
FB - Patterson
CB/FB - Ozcan
CB Carrol
CB - Mosquera
MF - Hemmings
MF - Borland
Attacking MF - Pavey
Winger - Dobbin
CF - Barry
