It’s the first game of preseason, it really really doesn’t matter. The quality of defending has no bearing on what will happen in the season.

Except it will as the last couple of seasons have shown.

No it doesn’t Tim. You’ve got plenty of time to agonise about it for months during the season, have a summer not worrying about it too much.

Tyrone made an error that led to Pau having to cover, not at fault at all.

???????
I thought that Tyrone and Pau swapped at half time
Next you’ll be accusing of not having watched the game, if you do you’ll be 100% right😊

Spot on Paul . Things will resolve themselves through what happens on the pitch . I think we'll see some big changes in the defence over the next 12 months . It's a priority .

Yeh we’ve been utter shit with those cup semi finals we’ve reached, top 6 finishes and a CL qualification.

I don't think we need to start worrying about the defence based on a game where we didn't at any time play even half of a first team defence.

The likely current starters are Digne/Maatsen, Torres/Mings, Konsa/? and Cash/Garcia. You really can't look at that game and conclude anything about what our actual defence will play like.

Could see why those who started training on Monday didn’t play…those who came in last week all had 45 mins to shake off the rust….& needed it.

Number of the youngsters did well….Hemmings & Mosquera in particular stood out for me…I like the flat out style of Burrowes too.  Barry was cruising & hardly involved

For me Gauci looked like a rabbit in headlights when the ball came near him in the few mins he had.

To be honest I'm not, just looking at what happened last season and the one before when it's not Mings / Konsa and we have weakness at the back .

Yeah, the season before last when we played all but about 20 minutes of it without Mings and finished fourth was a real disaster.

We were freescoring then . Look at the goals A column vs the year before when Mings played .
