As suspected, managing the carbon footprint is no longer an issue.

They'll offset it with Ross Barkley and Leon Bailey planting elm trees on the grounds of Aston Hall as their last act as Villa players.

Emi Martinez says he aiming for net zero.

We have tended not to have pre-season friendlies at Villa Park for a while now.

Guessing it gives them more time to carry out their nefarious schemes to replace us all with billionaires and tourists. Maybe they think that by getting us to slum it at the Poundland, we will appreciate what we have at Villa Park and not expect the urinals to work?

With the seats probably still being worked on plus after three gigs, they probably want the time for the ground to be ready for the main campaign.

Which also points towards an increasing possibility that we will be away first again.

Official twinning of Walsall and Trastevere.  Uncle Albert and Francesco Totti will cut the ribbon.

Season starts 16th August. Would still expect a game to be put on the weekend of 9th/10th.

They found it hard enough last season to get the ground ready for the Arsenal game. Huge number of vans the day before and turnstile chaos before the game.

How hard was it last year to get pre season tickets for games in Walsall? Reckon I’ll be able to get 4?
