I wish they would use the word 'also' instead of 'even' with regards to 1982.

Was about to point out the same.... The wording makes us a bit smalltime.

Regarding favourite chants, mine would be Dwight Yorke, Dwight Yorke. That being belted out by a raucous Villa Park will live long in the memory.
Annoyed that the Emery song to 'Let it Be' didn't stick - That could have been 'hairs on the back of the neck' good with everyone on song.

I think 'Let it Be' would be just as smalltime and cringeworthy, personally.

Anything that tries to be symphonic from sports fans makes my arsehole pucker up.

It's a million times better than any of the "my lord" songs, and at least it doesn't mention Birmingham fucking City like seemingly half our chants have to.
If anything pisses me off, it’s the  ‘Birmingham, are you listening………..’ shite.

Firstly, why the fuck are they even on our radar ? They should be the furthest thing from our minds.
Secondly, we take the piss out of them, take bets on when we will hear the first ‘shit on the Villa’ when they are on the telly……..yet we are just as bad
What annoys me when they sing Birmingham are you listening it plays into their hands because as we all know we're not in Birmingham and our fans are not from Birmingham. They should sing Small Heath are you listening.

Never liked the Bells are Ringing because it’s a Cockney tune but some history with Aston Church there.

I've never liked it either, mainly because it's a bit shit.
Think it was Norwich back in the eighties at Carrow Road, sung throughout the game constantly and loudly

Yeah, that was brilliant.

I actually like Allez, Allez, Allez, yes it is was a song that we weren't the first to use, but someone came up with words that are unique to us.  Anyone on the green at Wembley in 2019 that heard it sung when the team coach went by will surely having etched in their memory for ever.

And the CL song from last year was amazing, but has probably had it's day now!

Also, it isn't "Allez", it is "Ale" (similar pronunciation) - the song isn't French, it's Italian.

Yeah, we also dropped the 'When the moon hits your eye, Like a big pizza pie' bit.

Yeah, I was talking about Napoli, who first adopted the song as a football one, and added the 'Ale Ale Ale'.

Ah, I was unaware of that. I was sure I heard they nicked it from a Portuguese team.

I don't mind it in moderation. However, as I've said in the past, I wish we had a unique-to-us anthem that is part of the Villa tradition. That's about the only thing that our nearest neighbours have over us

We've got Holte Enders in the Sky but its all too brief.

That chant's not very inclusive for the other three stands :)

I can never get anyone to join in to Doug Ellis in the sky.

I can never really fathom why there are so many renditions about Blues; we give them air time by singing about them. I don't think there are other teams in the Prem that do it to our extent. We haven't played them in the top flight for over 14 years and only lost once to them in the last 16 meetings. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Many moons ago on another club's forum, I recall a poster wondering why football fans in Birmingham had such a fixation with defecating on each other. Seemed a valid query to me.

I suppose 'When you're smiling' has the same design fault as HEITS, as it ends with, "The Holte End Smiles With You-ooo!!!"
