None of them have proven to be any good though? The young player who got a chance was Duran and he wanted out. Who have we let go who could do a job in a top 6 team?

Rashford and Asensio on-loan made Malen less essential in the end.
It is a bit odd when you think about the fact we're under such financial restraints, yet none of the players we've spent £100m or so on in the last 12 months have cemented a first team spot.

Maybe he lacks a bit of JJs drive but will be interested to see how he performs in a poor team this season. Azaz is definitely PL quality, don't think he will be at Boro by the end of the transfer window. I don't think Bogarde has the presence to be a PL centre back. PL clubs including ours are no longer seeing academies as primarily for developing players for our first team. That's a bit sad.
