I also live 130 miles away and do have an ST, but probably don’t go to more than 15 games on it because so many KOs are changed to times that are difficult. There are many people, who hang on to their season ticket very simply because of that line in benefits package. ‘Imagine if I gave up my season ticket and we won the FA Cup the following year?’ It’s a big thing for ST holders to have that priority, & if they don’t want season ticket holders, messing with that priority is actually a genius way of getting rid of a fair few.

In 1996, I was a student and couldn’t afford a season ticket but was at all the home games to see the last 15-20 minutes as I worked on the catering! It didn’t make me less of a fan then, but I accepted that there were people ahead of me for a Cup Final ticket.

Surely for a semi-final/final the only fair way to allocate is ST holders first, then if there are any left it's by number of games attended overall, not cup games only?  That's the way it used to be done.

I did actually have an ST 1997 - 1999, gave it up due to not being able to make enough games to warrant it, then we get to Wembley in 2000 and I have to pay a tout £100 for a £20 seat for the Semi and sat in a Pub next to Wembley for the Final, although I wasn't surprised that David James dropped the ball as I could see 3 of them at that point!!!

I do absolutely agree that a current ST's should have Cup priority

Any idea how far down it went as isn't it only like 20k seats supplied to the teams for the final?

Last time we got there:

If I remember rightly, we had roughly 22K ST Holders, which was a pretty consistant number around that time

I think it's around 35k for the Semi and 30k for the Final

It's a good chance for some Season Ticket holders who don't get the chance to go to an away game to have an away day, or it should be.
Nail on head . The club have got this one wrong I'm afraid . If rewarding loyalty means day trippers over long term ST holders it's a sad state of affairs .

And they know it,  I contacted AVFCSupport on Twitter (X) showing the Preston criteria and the Renewal AMFY posted on here and usually their response to my questions is the next day or if the next day is Sunday 2 days. This time though the reply was 5 minutes advising me to email Fan Complaints which i have done.  As Amfy said this is a breach of contract and if you are a season ticket holder you need to complain they can't be allowed to get away with this.

I emailed the club yesterday including Amfy's screen shot. It won't make much difference this time I don't think but if it pushes them to correct it for next time, then it will have been worth it.

Don't they give you 25,000 tickets for the final - does anyone know how many GA+ season ticket holders there are (as they will no doubt get first dibs at any final tickets)

IF we got to the final and I did not get a ticket, then after 36 consecutive seasons of being a season ticket holder I will not bother getting a season ticket again.

It went a long way as I managed to queue for tickets for Mr Amfy and Stu and I am pretty sure they only had about 5 games each! They allowed you to keep gathering credits after we got to the final, and I was buying child tickets for them for games we weren’t even going to to get their criteria up! (Jane & Stu were in Vegas getting married for a couple of those!). I went and queue from about 4.30am to make sure I got them because I’d at least know where in the queue I was rather than entering the phone/online lottery.

We’ve got a lot more ST holders now and the allocation for the actual teams playing in it seems to go down year on year.

Just looking at allocations for the last few seasons and you normally get:

Semi Final 34,000
Final 30,000

So in both scenarios STHs are getting tickets.

Does anyone know how many Hospitality and GA+ STHs we have or is that all within the usual number given for STHs. My own suspicion is it’s not much more than 2-3k but haven’t seen any data to back that up.

Not necessarily, if people who have been to three cup games are given priority over season ticket holders, as they are for the Preston game. That was the cause of complaint.

Obviously we'd be guessing either way, but surely there can't be more than a handful of people who have been to three cup games that don't have season tickets?

Well as I don’t think that will happen for either the SF or F then I can’t see the problem. However I accept your point re the QF.

I could see what they were trying to do in respect of the QF but they missed out an STH with one cup game wave which would have solved the issue. It’s not getting past wave 3 anyway.

There's probably a fair few without season tickets that did all 3 FA Cup games. 7k+ non ST holders were at each game.
