I take it we all avoided town last night for fear of getting my hunted out?
No.

Some of the football we played was sumptuous and a joy to watch . I'm not sure what level Bologna would be at in the Prem - they seemed very calculated and dirty , classic Italian style antics on the pitch . Scoreline should have been heavier for sure but their keeper played well and we still fluffed some great chances

What a night. Again. Unai's obsessive nature is rubbing of on the players for sure. They all speak of the need for constant improvement and learning from every game. I thought Tielemans interview was superb. Thoughtful, intelligent and modest. He's becoming a pivotal part of our success and who would of thought that after his first few games when he was blowing out of his arse. Him and Rogers in particular are just fantastic at ball retention. In the heat of battle when there's bodies everywhere they seem to be able to thread a pass to a teammate when it looks for all the world as if they're going to lose the ball. The tenacity of those two lads just blows me away. As for Emery blowing his top at Nanny I really don't think there's any cause for concern. It's just the way they roll.

Funny, I didn't see them as a typical Italian side at all. They played very open, which meant the game ebbed and flowed, and - yes - the CB marking Duran was pretty uncompromising but there weren't many cynical fouls. In fact, we committed more than they did, even if they picked up 4-5 cards.
They weren't a bad footballing side but simply lacked a touch of quality to compete.

Some of the best and most incisive football you've ever seen us play. We cut through them so easily, at such pace and precision.

With power and pace everywhere, we're so physically strong. Then with a ridiculous amount of options on the bench.

We are a frightening side.

Superb performance from all.

I know some have picked out Bailey, I thought he did ok, was certainly on the end of some strange refereeing decisions when blatantly fouled, particularly the one when the guy had his arm and shirt running towards the corner.  The way we set up with essentially Torres / Diego & Konsa as 3 centre backs and Maatsen ahead of McGinn for most of the game meant the right side was bare of any support behind Bailey and he had to either try and go alone or cut inside to give it infield…he didn’t let his head drop and kept going so I’m convinced it’ll come, hopefully Saturday with Philogene suspended.

Seeing Kamara back was a huge boost, he’s a Rolls Royce to reintroduce over the next few weeks…almost like getting a January signing in early.

Who do we play next?

It doesn't matter. These are still our glory days.

Yeah, I thought that if anything, they were too “nice” and not really aggressive enough, physically.

I think we were brilliant yesterday - should have won by at least 4.  I think it was a our best performance of the season.  I think Mattassan looks really promising.  And Morgan looks really special.

I actually thought Bailey looked better yesterday - not at his best but looked more like it - a couple of goals should sort him. Some of our interplay yesterday was brilliant.

We have become really very good.  If we have a bit of luck with injuries this could be an even better season then last season.

We are watching something very special at the moment. With a fully fit squad I'm really not sure where it will all end...

In tears, it usually does.

Just stunning. Whoever came up with that idea deserves a pay rise.

Maybe. How liony are we really, though? Not sure it's a bit over-done.

We're quite liony, IMO, so I like it. Always thought "Lions" was much better than "Villans". Maybe just because we nicked it off Scotland. Scotland being, famously, associated with lions (presumably there because of the ample supply of unicorn meat).

I saw plenty of cynical fouls from them , the ref was quite lenient with them

Against Juve they’re going to have three convicts all complete with stripey tops masks and swag bags to depict villains.

Plus...rather than roaring, the lion in the middle looked like it was building up to a big sneeze :)
