With Swinkels going to Bristol Rovers, surely another CB is close. I'm beginning to wonder if our PSR position is worse than we thought.
Yeah it sounds like it from what monchi is saying

Emery has said we want 3 in by close of Monday. But if we can't, he's happy with what he has.

Own up - who thought the deadline was today?

Thing is we’ll end up at a crossroads here - if Unai thinks he can’t fulfill his ambitions he’ll be off.

Unai Emery has revealed #AVFC could bring in three new players before Monday's 11pm deadline, but admits the club's busy final three days in the market is "not normal".

"The club is working and we have to do something fast."

It's Monday Dave. We'll still be having the same conversation though.

Those latest quotes from Emery do make it sound like we really weren't planning on selling Watkins or Duran this window. We've now been put in a difficult position at the very last minute, trying to bring players in, with other clubs knowing we're somewhat desperate and that we just got a wad of cash from Saudi.

I like that they're sensible with the window and have it end on a Monday after a full round of fixtures, ending it on a friday whilst teams are preparing for Saturday matches would be really shit.

The last bit there is why I suspect we've made the comments about loans, we know there's not going to be a great deal of value for us in the next few days.

Let's play the loan deal guessing game then....

Assuming we might actually have a chance of
loaning Asensio and Emery wanting him, that would give us, in his words a versatile player that could cover 10 and right wing if Rogers or Malen played up top. So he might be a goer now the bi-annual twerk for Felix has ceased.

You have to think we might be able to get the loan for Disasi over the line then. Is he cup tied? But that gives us centre back, and eventually Konsa right back coverage again.

Who do we want the 3rd loan to be? I'm going to go a late Dougie Luiz loan to free Tielemans further forward more often. Unlikely, but worth a punt.

Loan players in January is hard though. Essentially you're looking at players who aren't getting a look in at their current team, or players with some kind of off field issues at their current club. It's rare there's another place like Chelsea, where really good footballers can't get a game through no fault of their own.

All that said, Dougie seems like a rare example of a good player just making a bad move. I can't see it happening but it would put a completely different sheen on this window if it did.

Sergio Ramos pay as you play deal until the summer.

Sergio Ramos pay as you play deal until the summer.

Given his age and injury record that would be a great deal financially!!
